37, but I'm not ready to admit that I'm closing in on 40 so I picked 30ish.
Believe me, life really started at 40 for me as I realized I was living my life wrong.

Now at 53 and retired, I am finding I was wrong about so many more things of life (And I am so glad that I have a wife who points out those "wrong things" without mercy ... No really.).

Despite lifting weights and doing pushups in the evenings at home 5 or 6 nights a week, and walking 2.2 miles 4 to 6 days a week on my lunch break, I'm still deteriorating.
This is one of many things I realized which forced an early retirement for me.

Our genetic make up will prevail no matter how active and healthy lifestyle we pursue. With each passing year after 40, I started getting diagnosed with everything my mother has. I mean, there's not much you can do to prevent Spinal Stenosis ... if you are genetically predisposed. And I was an active person who jogged several miles a day, cycled 50 miles on weekends, rock climbed, hiked, swam, etc.

This is why it is so important to choose your parents carefully. ;):D

I rarely see a divide of opinion concerning firearms use and safety among our members that can be attributed to age ... it tilts towards the grey hairs but then a specific topic comes up and I realize that there are a lot of younger shooters out there.
Best advice I can give to younger shooters is that life is truly short and we are all going to die (We are actually in slow process of dying each and every day) so sooner we realize this reality the better. And because death is a factual reality, we should pursue and enjoy each and everyday which makes us happy.

And if you want a companion to share your life with, find a mate/spouse who also enjoys firearms to make your life more enjoyable.

And life will happen. But it is how we choose to respond that defines us.

I'm 45 but in way better shape than when I was 25. I had severe allergies all my life and was diagnosed with crohn's disease at 19.

I've learned to stay away from doctors and prescription meds. Eat organic meat, eggs, milk and veggies. No artificial food colorings.

It's as if I never had crohn's or allergies. It takes years of discipline but we can be way healthier than the medical industry would like!:D

I was very interested in this poll. I’m new here and felt like there were quiet a few other members here close to my age. I’m in the 40ish group but feel older most days.

At an age where I was young enough to hold my mama's hand one cold and rainy December night and be this close to Natalie Wood and Robert Redford while they filmed Tennessee William's This Property Is Condemned on St Louis Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Natalie was a tiny thing with huge brown eyes and beauty that took the breath. Life is good now but life was glorious then.

Must be nice.....I'm pretty sure i feel double my stated age. Between years of weight lifting and Too many dangerous hobbies i guess I've just broke and injured too much. People think I feel great though.....so there is that. Lol

I turn 37 in a few days. I chose 40ish. I always round it up
Get ready to start rounding down...

As a rifle crazy kid of 12 or 13 years old (whose first deer rifle was still a couple of years in the future) I remember my dad and several other “old” guys sitting around the oil stove in George G.s used furniture store, drinking coffee and arguing about the merits and shortfalls of “seven-mms” and “aught-sixes.” But here’s the thing: in those days, they were talking about 7mm Mausers and 30-06s because neither the 7mm Rem Mag nor the 25-06 had been invented yet. And while the 264 Win Mag had already been invented, I don’t remember any of those old guys ever talking about it. So when someone spoke about a 6.5, he simply called it a “Swede,” meaning a 6.5 Swedish Mauser. So I kinda get a kick out of some folks on message boards like THR that seem to think arguing about the merits and shortfalls of big game cartridges came along with the invention of the internet.;)

By the way, I was playing volleyball in the high school gym in Sophomore PE Class when they announced over the intercom that President Kennedy had been shot. A few days later, we found out that the gun Oswald used was almost identical to my mom’s deer rifle – a 6.5 Carcano that a few years before, my dad had pulled from a 55 gallon drum in the Army/Navy surplus store. I think dad paid $5.00 for it.

usually feel pretty young, until I try to do the things of my younger years

I'm the opposite. I'm stronger, just as lean, and bigger than I ever was. I still play basketball tournaments for hours with 20 year old college guys. I can do anything I could.....I just feel every one of my 20 or so broken bones and every torn muscle, ligament, impingement, etc and such from my car and (especially) atv and motorcycle racing days For about a week after. My joints and ligaments are shot from the very things that keep me healthy. Lol. No amount of glucosamine or MSM or fish oil or snake oil......can make abused joints from sparing and lifting feel better. Then throw in a million bales of hay thrown and god knows how many splitting maul swings.....

I'm one of the few who looks back and can honestly say maybe I shouldn't have exercise so much. But then I see people I went to school with and I guess I'm doing pretty good

My dad and his brother are 65 and 70 and they are both still beasts. Little short stumpy beasts but pretty impressive either way. Both still logging most every day. Just to escape the house I believe

Old enough to remember Eisenhower, Kennedy, and Johnson as presidents.

Same here. Including Trump, I've seen 12 Presidents hold the office.

Still get around pretty good, probably do some things I shouldn't be doing (physically). Wife keeps reminding me "You're not 21 any more " when I complain about aches and pains. I argue that in my mind I am. I'm just 21...with 44 years experience. ;)

Slowly learning that getting old..ain't for sissies.

Age can be a state of mind. I've been a competitive athlete since I was a kid, now I'm 60ish, still out there whipping butt on guys in their 20s (what happened with that generation, anyway? so many are so soft …). I can still run 3-5 miles a day (but don't, trying to take care of surgically repaired knees and back). Was on tactical teams through my 50s, when most guys stepped down as soon as they hit 40ish. I still don't weigh much more than I did when I first enlisted (not quite as tall now), still have all my hair (lot greyer now, though), but I have gotten a lot crankier and less accepting of crap as I've aged. On the other hand, I do know how short life is (lost all of the buddies I grew up with, and a lot of buddies from the military) so I feel much more appreciative of almost everything now.

If I had any advice for a youngster just coming up, I'd tell him/her: don't ever start playing video games or get hooked on television, get the hell out of doors and stay active, and live your life in the real world, not the virtual one.

Welcome to the forum 68Dave. there's a lot of good folks here of all different ages. Have fun.

“I’m 37!”
“What??”
“I’m 37, I’m not OLD.”
“Well I can’t just call you ‘Man.’”
“You could say Dennis...”
“I didn’t know you were CALLED Dennis.”
“Well you didn’t bother to find out, did you!”
Love the grail reference!!
I will be 50 in a few months.
I'm actually a little ashamed of myself for not catching that earlier.
