Ballard Barrel on Mauser Action

Happy new year.

Wondering if anyone has come across a stamp like this. Barrel is also marked 243 Win on an old kar98 action. No other markings on the action or barrel.

Ballard in this case probably refers to the rifling.

Beats me. I have not had anybody to tell or show me what "Ballard style rifling" actually is.
Marlin just uses it as a trademark for six groove rifling to differentiate it from Microgroove, since they were the last owners of Ballard Rifle Co.
There was a modern Ballard not really connected to 19th century Ballard or Marlin, but I don't know if they would have put a barrel on your Mauser.

Could be. Looks like it was struck one letter at a time by hand. Not the mark of a substantial company.
