I have a 70series markIV colt.45 and want to get another barrel. What is the difference between a standard barrel ramp and a nowlin/wilson or a para-clark ramp and which one do I want for my stock .45?
Well, you HAVE a standard barrel, and I would recommend replacing it with the same. The Wilson-Nowlin and Clark-Para are different shapes of "integral ramp" barrels, with a feed ramp hanging down under the chamber rather like a Browning. To use one of those you would have to pay a gunsmith to chop a big mortise in the frame.
Thanks Jim for that information. I was thinking about a Kart easy fit barrel because I like doing stuff myself but Bar-sto is only about 60 miles from my home and on the way to our other place in the mountains(Big Bear) so I'll have to make up my mind about that.I'll wait until my next SS check, my wife lets me spend it on guns, sorry uncle sam.
