Bear Grylls Survival Gerber

I have the original Gerber, and would recommend that as a good knife. I carried one in the sandbox. Both the LMF and the Prodigy (smaller version) are great.

I would NOT want to have that ugly Bear Gryles version. I've also heard that it's not high quality. I have no experience, but I don't personally care for high paid advertisers names on my stuff. Particularly when it's just a commercial gimmick...

For the same price the Gerber Prodigy, with Sandvick 12C27 steel is far superior.

well i have used mine hard in the woods of tennessee this month during deer season. everything has held up VERY well except for the serations. if one were to only use them on rope or some such soft material they would be just fine. the fire started throws a good spark but wears down super fast. not sure if replacements are available. the blade hasnt bent or chipped and while edge retention isnt the best it sharpens up nicely (but the on board "diamond" sharpener is IMO way to rough. it needs to be at least half again as fine a grit.

all in all i like it! it wouldnt be the first choice for me, but the little accessories make it worth taking a look at. they actually work. i judge it to be a fairly good knife for the price.
