You need to upgrade that holster. :)

Hey, I quite like that holster! It was for a Kahr CW45 and I cut it apart and sewed it back together to get it to fit and then sewed the belt strap deal to fit tightly on my belt. Quite ugly but its a great comfortable holster.

Out of all of the guns I own, there is only 3 that I want to keep away from getting banged up or dirty. They are:

My CMP M1 Garand, 'cause they don't make them anymore. :D
This really pretty stainless Sig 1911. 'cause it is really pretty. :D
My Dad's old 38 spl. 'cause it was Dads. :(

Everything else is fair game. Especially the 3 carry pistols which get banged around with regularity.

I try and take care of my things. So nothing is a “beater” per se. But I’m with you in that my guns aren’t safe queens. In other words, I try and take care of them, but if they get dirty, dropped (hopefully not but stuff happens), or whatever that’s part of using them and carrying them.

My beater is one many would keep in a safe. A 1917 Colt Army in 45. It goes with me when I need a rough and tumble gun. It's been on my hip in the prairie and at 11,000 feet on Corona Pass. It has plenty of scratches and wear, so I'm not afraid of beating it up a little. The ka-bar usually goes on the other hip.

Up on Corona Pass. That ridge behind the lake is the continental divide

I love your beater gun, I also love the places you visit, been there on the old rail line above the Moffat tunnel.

I needed another ccw gun like a whole in my head but I sold something and met a guy at a rural king ... made the mistake of going inside and going to the gun dept... saw an anderson AR lower for 49.00 inclusive of transfer fees so I grabbed one... was talking to a guy who just bought a gun and asked what he was getting... ends up he had grabbed one of the 180 with an additional 25.00 rebate taurus g2's... DAMN IT... I grabbed one of them too... 155 for it and it has the 2 mags.... thats a pretty cheap 9mm! Not gonna be my pride n joy by any means but will likely be serviceable. :)

Most of what I own could be labelled as beaters, but they all run fine.

Latest is a roughly used Star 30M I scored off Gunbroker. Right side looks fine, left looks like it might have been dropped a couple times. Scuff on the rubber grips. Pretty big scratch on the slide.

Here's the pics from the auction, as it's in limbo until Saturday

No mag, smells like it was stored in an ashtray.

I got the chance to take it down and shoot it when it came in, since I use my range as an FFL (they let me shoot, I just leave it there until I get proceeded).
Shoots like a laser; actually shoots like ... a Star 30M. Which means it's heavy as heck, slide is smooth, almost zero recoil or flip, kinda like shooting a Ruger Mk II, but noisier.

My only beater (and only Glock) is a 19. It’s my hiking, camping, working in yard, don’t care if I sweat all over it firearm.
