I'll get pics tomorrow.Pics or it didn't happen. I want to see this book too...if it worked so well that you knew what to look for and couldn't find it then it certainly does good enough to fool a burglar.
You should never judge a book by its cover.......Never thought you could find a gun in a book!

I made one of those out of a dictionary once.Dear Smith
So I'm curious...what was the title of the hidden gun book? Was it gun related (possibly to jog your memory), or was it something very plain and generic to blend in with the rest of the books?
Well I'm more thinking I'll hear a noise and when I get up I just go to the book shelf and get the Roscoe!I made one of those out of a dictionary once.
I decided that if someone broke into my place, they'd likely toss everything on the floor and the gun would just fall out.
Ok, here is a pic! Yes the gun can fall out now.. but with some thought there may be a way to keep it in (I'm thinking gluing a pocket holster on the bottom side and glue that cover of the book to the pages. Oh, and it seems the book was real once, but professional altered. The title is generic. Note the Glock 42 I will keep in the book!

Yes, it was a real book by a real author. Very strait cut all around. Those are real pages all the way through (and if you read it, you can actually understand a bit of the story.)Is that a commercially sold fake book? The cut out is as perfect as if a die cutter cut all the sheets before the book was bound.

Here is a how-to-guide to make such (but not as professional as mine was made.)

That's pretty much how I did mine, using a sheet rock knife. I did make the cutout in the same general shape as the gun though. Here is a how-to-guide to make such (but not as professional as mine was made.)

That would be one huge book. It would be kinda hard to make that blend in with your book shelf.Too bad they don't make books big enough for an AK

I want one that's a pop up book. Maybe you could pull a little tab and the gun would pop up.
That's pretty cool. I made something like that while I was in college. I used an "old" textbook, that is, one I couldn't sell back. It was a real PITA to cut the pages out but, tossed under the bed, made for a pretty good hiding place. As it was on the floor where there was nowhere for it to fall and who's gonna open a dusty business management text?
I keep thinking such a thing would be a worthy hiding place again, but have a hard time deciding on a title that would fit in with my library yet boring enough to avoid someone opening it (I'm probably over rating my personal library).
