Beretta 390 Problems!

Dave,

I suppose that if used carefully and judiciously in the right places, some real fine sandpaper wouldn't hurt anything. I just don't want to encourage some to think that they must pick up some sandpaper and go to work on the bolt, receiver rails, etc in order for the thing to operate properly.

All it should need is a good cleaning of the heavy rust protectant from all the metal surfaces and several boxes of stout loads to break it in. Many autoloaders don't break in well until they've had a few hundred rounds put through them.

Okay Pete,

I hear ya and I definitely havn't fired a couple hundred rounds yet, so that will be my next priority after receiving my part in the mail. Can't wait. Merry Christmas to all!

It WORKS!

Hot Diggity! Got the gas check valve part in the mail this week and installed it. Took the gun waterfowlin' this week. It functioned flawlessly! I used several brands of ammo including fiocchi, kent, winchester xpert (3 inch magnum steel loads) and the 390 cycled perfectly in a range of temps from 50 to 24 degrees (had a cold front come through in AR). I then fired a few rounds of lighter loads for test. First heavy field 1 1/8 oz Federal Gold Medals then lighter still 1 oz winchester and rem "field" loads. They all cycled without trouble. The problem with the action wanting to hang up seems to be gone too. Sure was fun to shoot! Thanks everyone for your help in getting my Beretta back in shooting order!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

David
