I went to my local Gander Mountain today and noticed on the wall a brand new Beretta Teknys Gold Sport with the extended optima chokes. I have been looking for one of these for quite some time. The local dealers around here say that they are on back order until 2005 it is just luck that they had one. So I snatched this bad boy up and can't be happier. I am familiar with the Beretta semi autos since I owned a Bertta Urika Gold Trap. Now I just need to have the time to go out and shoot it.

Excellent shotgun. It's what I'd be shooting for clays if I weren't already committed to a couple of over/unders.

And from what I've read on the Beretta site, the Teknys Gold comes with an honest walnut stock NOT the egregious XTRAWood.

The 391s show all the signs of being classics in progress.

Congrats, now go shoot it. Work can wait....

Thanks, for the kind comments. Work can wait but my family obligations can't. The bad thing is that the weather here in Ohio has been perfect for some sporting clays. I'll give everyone an update as soon as I get to go out and play.

Yes, the Technys Gold has European walnut with a nice grain, and oil finish.
The "regular" Technys has the X-tra wood overlay on plainer wood. Like the standard M391 Urika, it uses a synthetic satin stock finish. (The "plain" M391 also has normal wood, although seldom with exceptional grain.)

Some of the Gold Technys have very nice wood. And the gun points very well, although you may need the thinner plastic buttplate if the rubber pad makes the stock too long. The difference in handling is considerable. The gun should come with one pad on it and the other in the handsome case.

I suspect that you are going to like this gun very well.
