Saw a guy selling a Beretta neos. Says it only has about 50 rounds through it. Has 2 mags, hard case and the tools that came with it. He wants $225 obo. This would be my firsr handgun thought it would be a fun little plinker. Haven't heard many negative things about them. Anyone have any reason I shouldn't buy it? if he still has it next week when when I get paid I might make him an offer on it.

Not a bad deal, not a great deal....

I have a Neos and I like it. The grip angle is a bit wonky but if it works for you then it works for you. I would say it is as reliable as the next .22 pistol out there and accuracy is about par for the course.
I guess I would say it is about typical for a .22 pistol in it's price range with styling being be the stand out difference for it.

I use mine for a suppressor host, yeah, it is a lot of fun.

I have one and love it. $225 is a great price at my neck of woods, I won't see one for under $250. It has smallest grip amount most other 22lr (smith 22A, ruger, buckmark...etc). Easy to clean, parts are cheap and the best part is all barrel length are interchangeable. Plus now the carbine kit is available.

I like mine. It shoots well and is easy to clean. I shot a 1000 rounds before I cleaned it for the first time. It was flawless. I mounted a pistol scope on it. It's lots of fun to shoot and much easier to disassemble then the ruger mark pistols.
I don't like that the safety digs into the top of my hand when the safety is on. All you have to do is flip it up when you grab it, but it's no ideal.
I think I paid about that price for mine brand new. I could have bought a used one they had for $25 less. I didn't think it was worth the savings and bought the new one with the warranty.
Had I thought about it a little more I would have put the $200 into a conversion kit for my Glock.

Did someone say Neos? It's a great little plinker. That's the price I paid for mine a few years ago....they run around $300 these days. Unless it's the Inox model I'd say $225 is a little pricey for a used gun. $175-200 is probably more in line. I'm curious to know what "tools" it came with.

The "tools" appear to be a small orange t shape thing and something that looks similar to an allen wrench with a point on one end? No idea. I was thinking I might offer him around $200. Maybe a little less.

I'd start at $175 and not consider going up much from there, maybe $200. That orange thing could possibly be the empty chamber indicator that came with the gun. Mine didn't come with any tools. None are needed to tear the gun down.....of course I could be missing something but my gun was NIB.

Just looked in my Neos box and yes, that orange piece is just the plug that they put in the chamber of the gun to show that it's empty.

I don't remember any tools either. $175 would be a great price for that gun. For $25 more it's still worth it i would think.

Well never mind apparently someone else bought it already. I was looking forward to it too looked like a pretty sweet little gun. Maybe someday lol

Would you suggest 4.5 inch barrel? Or the 6.0 inch barrel?

Just food for thought. If you wish to get multiple barrels in the future. Start with longer barrel will save you few bucks. The NIB price of Neos are the same for any length. But if you buy the barrel by itself, shorter the length cheaper it gets.

I have mine in both 4.5" and 7.5". The 7.5" barrel cost $45 more than 4.5" barrel (back when it was still available). I'm just happy I found mine.

The little tool is for disassembly and helps in loosening the screw on the frame wheel. Mine was included along with the orange chamber plug and the famous Beretta Blue Shot Glass. Bud's lists the 6" Neos at $230 with free shipping.

If you're looking for an inexpensive plinker it's fine as is the Buckmark and the S&W 22A.

The tool is a combination screwdriver/hex wrench and is for adjusting the rear sight and removing the grip. Not sure how it would help with breaking the pistol down for field stripping.
