Beretta PX4 Storm Type-C

One thing that escaped many people though was that the Px4 was the only gun in all the testing to pass all of the tests. So even though nobody was selected, the Px4 is arguably the best of the bunch

I would be interested in a source for this. Also, I hope the author was joking when he wrote,

You would think that this is a wear part but apparently the Px4 never breaks.

Anyway, I have no personal experience with the Type-C. I's say that most of what that article was based around (preventing you from accidentally pulling the trigger) is an answer in search of a problem.

I've rented one in 9mm the last three times I went to the range. Nice pistol. Trigger pull is longer than my Stoeger Cougar type F DA/SA in the SA mode but shorter than the DA mode. Trigger is smooth, fairly light and breaks nice. The gun of course has no safety or decocker. I like it and if I buy a PX4 it'll probably be the type C as an F type is pretty much a polymer version of my Cougar.

seems like a good concept for a trigger, but how does that rotating barrel work? Is that strictly a recoil management feature?

The barrel rotates instead of unlocking and tilting up. Keeps the barrel in alignment and is suppose to increase accuracy and absorb some of the recoil. I know my two Stoeger Cougars (8000 F 9mm and 8045 .45 ACP) both have the rotating barrel and are both soft shooting and very accurate. The PX4 type C I rented was the same, soft shooting and accurate.
