I have no idea what you guys are talking about the px4 having trigger sting. I put 250 rounds into a friends px4 in a matter of an hour and I didnt have any problems what so ever. I guess I have tougher fingers.

If you don't know what we are talking about, you don't have it. :)

People seem to report that it is more of an issue the colder the weather (the trigger sting). The colder it gets, the more likely you will have this issue - for whatever reason.

Thanks SuperNaut, Trigger sting sounds like a nasty affliction. motorsport28, I think the trigger sting issue is with the .45 PX4. Like yours, my Px4 in 40S&W has never produced it.

Are you ready for this one? I called around to several local gunshops going the way of buying a second PX4 .45 so I can have the minimum amount of mags required for the firing range. Gander Mountain was one store on my list and sure <sarcasm> has some competitive pricing and also have excellent customer service </sarcasm>.

I waited for the gentleman to go check for this model in the store and he returns to the phone nearly ten minutes later saying, "Yeah we have one here. It's $899.99. I said, "WOW! Now that's a steal!!!" He was so excited to hear how happy I was to discover Gander puts all other local shops to shame when it comes to everyday low prices.

I was going to push the envelope and haggle a bit (try to get .99 off), but that might be pushing it a little overboard. Midas well just hush up and run with the steal.

Anyways, that's the only solution I have (two PX4s). I can always sell one later after the course is completed. Heck I don't even have to fire the second gun so I can sell it again as new.

Do you have to use that gun to qualify? If not you would be better off going to Academy if there is one near you and picking up 2 24/7 Pro 45's for 350 each and then you could turn around and sell them both for about 350 each ;)

or buy one 24/7 and an extra mag for 40 bucks and call it a day

$899.99 for a Px4 Storm .45? They're $599.99 near me (Capital District). I'd say for $300 it'd even be worth the drive.

Edit: He probably was quoting you on a Cx4, not a Px4. Try calling them back and specifying "the pistol, not the carbine" and see what they say.

Archigos, I did just what you requested and "Yes, $899.99 for the PX4." That's way too much.
MPanova, "No, I can use any gun so long as it's not a caliber less than 9 mm."

No problems at all with my PX4 in .45ACP. Purchased new in Dec 07 from my local dealer for $560 before tax & bg check. Also, had new Trijicon night sights installed and sent the slide/barrel to Robar for their NP3 finish.

cal45, that looks very sexy. I might have to consider getting that NP3 finish myself. How was your experience with those guys? Any reason not to go through with it? How does it perform after the custom finish job?

Robar does great work, I like how the PX4 came out so much that I sent my Walther PPS slide and barrel to them for the same. Hopefully, I'll get it back next week. The only drawback is that their turn around time is not the greatest. There standard is usually 6-8 weeks, but you won't be disappointed with the finished product. The NP3 has a slick surface feel to it which makes the action super smooth and also cleans up real easy.

I'm now thinking of getting a Sig P6 just to get that done on it. God, my new permit is going to do horrible things to my wallet.
