Best 300 BLK factory load for home defense?

In my admittedly very limited 300blk experience, I thought it would be best to use the specs of the company that standardized it; so I've used only AAC barrels (and thus their exact gas port size) and pistol gas.

I haven't had any trouble running anything so far. The casehead is no more beat up for me than it is shooting 5.56 and currently I expect to get just as many loads out of a 300blk case as I would a 5.56...

Yes, I allowed my original thoughts to evolve as the discussion progressed.
I am interested in the best terminal performance but this discussion and my existing bias had thought that a higher velocity round would be best so my thoughts had evolved to "are any subsonic rounds capable of sufficient terminal performance so that using them for the benefit of lower noise would not compromise performance too much for HD"
In other words, is the loss of terminal performance worth the gain in sound reduction?
I am in the camp of desiring some sort of expansion or fragmentation of any bullet for self defense so I'm starting to think the answer to this is "no" . I think I would prefer the noisier, more effective rounds.
