THR, I am wanting to know what the best group you have ever shot is? Not what you want to brag about necessarily, but the group (or groups) that you are most proud of. I have recently discovered the high that comes along with shooting the group that you have dreamed of shooting, and want to know what that group is for you!

Pictures are more than welcome, and once you post your best group, feel free to go out and beat it and give us another picture ;)

.75 with a Browning Bar 30-06. Great gun but it was to pretty for me to hunt with. So I sold it. Didn't realize how good that gun shot untill years later.

This is the best I've ever shot. I don't shoot or own any target / BR rifles, Only hunting / sporter rifles. This CZ will shoot .750" at 100yds. consistantly with this ammo.

All these were shot at 100yards with a bushmaster ar-15, with a JP Enterprise barrel

Best 5-shot, upper right target ... All 5 can be covered with a dime

Both my Savage 10FP and my Remington 700 LTR have shot 5 round groups of a little under .75 inches at 100 yards. Never got to stretch their legs though.

here's a 1-shot group (first round of the day) at 1015 yards in the wind. I use the bolts as a vertical aiming point. My spotter changed the wind call about 6 times before I fired.

The best group I've ever shot was when I was testing loads of 168gr (I think) Berger Hunting VLDs in my .308. It was the only zero group that I've ever shot in the 1/1000ths. It measured .006 or something like that. I shot that off of a bipod using a squeeze bag.
Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture.

These are some older pictures of three round groups that I shot when working up a load using SMKs. These were shot at 100 yards.

Sorry I posted so many, but I really don't believe that in "one" best group. I try to strive for consistency and am slowly getting there. I guess I've gotten to be about a consistent 1/2 to 3/4 MOA shooter when I can keep track of the wind.

Probably my single best feat combining luck and a meager amount of skill was thus group

Simply because of what I shot it with.

I've shot better groups but not more impressive ones

I've put 5 bullets into one ragged hole at 100 yards with several rifles of a sand bagged rest. Certainly can't do it consistently with any of them, though.

My two most accurate rifles are a Remington 700 LVSF .17 Rem. that averages .72 MOA @ 200, and a Ruger M77 Varmint .220 Swift that is .67 MOA @ 200. It took quite a bit of handloading to get there, though....

The red dot shows where the third bullet hole was in the target backing. I actually had a witness who was shooting with me that day.:)

Yes, that's a 3 shot group at 300 yards from my 7.62x39mm 527M carbine. Could I do it again? HIGHLY unlikely, most likely a fluke of all flukes. :) Plus it was a group, but not on the bull, (one round was on the backing!), and 22 inches low. Total group size was a wee bit over 1".

Nothing sub-MOA here, since the guns i shoot are all semi-auto at the moment, and i'm still gathering tools and supplies to handload for my rifle.

Best i have photo evidence of is the 5-shot group measuring 1.75" from 100yd in the top left corner of the target seen below.

I had one 5 shot group that measured just a hair over 2" at 200yd once, but since my rifle started choking on that particular ammo immediately afterward, i don't really count it. The same day i shot a 5-round group into the 10-ring with my friend's Daewoo at 50yd to prove it was his technique rather than his rifle limiting his accuracy.

I also have a 16-round group on a target on my bookshelf with an extreme spread of about 5.5" shot from 200yd with the rifle pictured above (the other 4 used to burst milk-jugs at ranges between 100-300yd :D). Hornady Steel match 155 BTHP. Alas, i have not the means to upload a pic of said target right now...

Probably my best group was a 10 shot air rifle group. It was only at 14yds in sitting position on a reduced target, but good for the situation.

I have shot some tight groups from time to time, not sure exactly what the measurement was but it sure does make you feel good

M-70 .375 H&H 20" barrel 100 yards Leupold Vari X III 1.75x6 3 shot group. .374"

Per 64 .375H&H stock 1942 rifle, iron sights 24" barrel @ 50 yards. 4 shot group just at .50"

I've got a custom .270 Weatherby built on a M-70 by a good friend that has produced 3" groups at 600 yards. It's a fun toy.

I have a .47" and a few .48"-.49" @100 yards with my .22-250. All of those were shot in load development. Those were 5 shot groups...I have the targets still but no pictures ATM...here is a .526" 4 shot group with Winchester White box ammo though. The bottom group is 3 shots and .71"

29wv60y.jpg

My dad shot a 4 shot group at about .28" with the rifle though.

I was happier when I pierced both ears of a groundhog at 350 yards with my dad's Savage 340 in .225 Winchester and an old beater Bushnell scope. Took me 1 shot to see the dust kick up to tell me my Kentucky windage hold. Next shot killed him. That's what tight groups on paper are good for, letting you know you can hit the target in the field.

Drifter tank is that a g3

PTR-91F. It's a US-made copy of the HK91. Built on HK-licensed tooling using HK plans and specs...mostly. Mine has a barrel contracted from Thompson/Center that shoots pretty well hot or cold but doesn't like surplus ammo. They retail around $1200 and are pretty well built. Being built to spec most small parts for G3, PSG-1, MSG-90, and some HK21 parts are drop-in. From what i understand they've resolved the ammo sensitivity issues on the newer ones.
