Rifle:

South African R5 (Galil clone, full auto)

Handgun:

Ruger Super Redhawk .44 Mag

The absolute best thrill I got though, was firing an 88mm artillery piece. I can list that here, because I was 17 at the time and I was a civilian guest at an artillery range where we fired live shells at a bus a few kilometres away.

I could write a list, but the first one I thought of was a Para P14 45 rental at a local range.

He's had it for years. A good bit of the frame is bare steel since the parkerizing has worn off. The slide looks like its been refinished with Krylon, and it wasnt a good refinish at that. Being a rental, its always filthy. Its been fired so many times it has no need for a triggerjob, despite having a good bit of takeup, it breaks clean at less than 3 lbs. There's no telling how many times its been rode hard and put away wet.

Its never jamed on me, and its a tackdriver. Someone stole the ten round mag it came with, so he used one for a BUL M5/polymer kimber, which sits in the gun about .060 too low.

I've tried numerous time to buy it, he wont sell.

Was in the market for a new firearm

Rented a CZ75B, SIG 226? and a Springfield SD all in 9mm
I liked the Springfield best, the Sig was more accurate.
I ended up buying a S&W 625.

My older brothers M1 carbine. I borrowed it for a range trip. I loved that little gun!

Last weekend I went shooting with a friend who brought along his K31, great gun. If ammo wasnt so darned expensive for it, Id consider buying one.

30-40 Kraig.
Navy guy loaned it to me so I could go deer hunting for my first time.
It had a full stock and weighed a ton.
I wish he would have sold it to me.
Thanks Larry Palmer, where ever you are.

Best gun I ever rented was a Dan Wesson .357 MAG. blued with a 6 in. bbl. I was driveing home from going fishing and traffic was backed up, I noticed a small shooting range so I decided to do some shooting instead of sitting in traffic, only problem was I did not have any of my guns with me. what a grate gun. I said to myself, next time I see one of these used I will get it. Well that was about 6 yrs. ago and since then the only Dan Wesson revolver I have seen around here was one of the ones with the the set of 2,4,& 6 in. bbls. and I did'ent have the money. They just don't show up used around here, people tend to hang on to them. I WILL have one one day.

Some of the great guns I've had the opportunity to shoot:

SIG X5 Comp
Bruce Gray SIG P226R
Bruce Gray P220ST
Bruce Gray P226ST
Springfield PRO
S&W 500 mag
Ruger .480
Model 29-2 (beautiful trigger)
Colt Python (same as above)
Randy Lee @ Apex Tactical's 627's
Apex Tac's downloaded XD-40 (true polymer gun with soul)

Most fun though was my first rifle I shot. Full Auto M-16 when I was 14. :)

Most fun gun I've had a chance to "play" with
was a select fire UZI,with a .22LR kit on her.
My buddy and I went through 2 bricks of ammo
in no time. Only wish he brought his "can" for it.
What a fun gun to shoot,100% controlable aim.

Rented a Thompson SMG. The Thompson was a dream to shoot and had practically no recoil, was easy to produce short bursts and was easy to hit a target all the way out to 25 yards.

One of the best times with a "borrowed" gun. Summer Camp Utah National Guard. One Saturday one of our NCO's wanted to take one of the M7 Priests out for a test drive. So he rounded up a gun crew, we picked up 20+ rounds from the ammo dump and went out in the weeds to play. We took turns loading, aiming and firing. Used up all the ammo, picked up the brass and went back to camp.

That was one really fun day.

Favorite firearm borrowed that was not crew served ~ PPsh41
