Hello All
Question for you experienced bench rest guys.
Just received my new bench rest. Will not be using for competition, hopefully I will be able to hit some long range steel. Bench rest appears to be well built, will probably disassemble, clean up the left over manufacturing burrs, and relube.

Now from you experienced guys shooting AR type guns off of the Caldwell rest. What brand and model of front bag are you using on the bench rest.

Thank you

I’d recommend a Protektor flat or a wide model depending on your forearm. Everyone should have a full set, admittedly I don’t take my own advice.

My Caldwell front is currently leaking after 5 years of use, my Protektor is on its 35th season and still going strong. I recently purchased the slick top style front/rear combo but have yet to test them. The new set will go with my Bald Eagle, the old set with my lightweight Hoppe’s rest.

Wouldn’t recommend these for an AR if it’s a cheese grater.

One of these two should be suitable.
