suggestions? and why would you take it over the m4? this is strictly a home defense rifle pistol grip and full stock are mandatory.
If you have to have a semi auto the Mossberg JM930 is hard to beat. The JM930 is a high capacity shotgun that is ready for competition right out of the box. In a side by side comparison the JM930 will run the Benelli right back to Italy.

If the gun wouldn't run I would have sent it back to mossberg. We have just as many 3 gun matches as anywhere. I am not seeing what you experienced. But maybe shooters here that have issues with a new gun send it for warranty repairs. Trying to fix a gun that is under warranty is crazy. This couldn't be more false... I shoot a JM930 in competition because I couldn't afford a Benelli. The only the that a Mossberg will run back to Italy is your sanity. Competition ready out of the box? Nowhere close. It took one of my sponsors about 30 hours of work to get it running 95%.
I would never use that gun as a defensive shotgun, even now that it is running fairly well.
Mossberg's "warranty" is as good as their QC. I have no reason to trust that they could fix a gun properly when they ship my shotgun with a 1/2 dent in the magazine tube... After I got it back then I would have had to pay to ship it straight back to have them attempt to fix the shell stop because I know they wouldn't have checked it during the first trip. And then back again after that fit the cracked extractor...If the gun wouldn't run I would have sent it back to mossberg. We have just as many 3 gun matches as anywhere. I shouldnt have to reload
I surely hope I never would need to use it
