I currently bought a BHP two tone and wanted to remove the trigger to do a bit of work. It looks like the trigger pin needs to be removed from the left side of the gun and pushed too the right. After reading some information on the web, it states that the trigger pin needsto be removed from the right side and pushed through to the left side. My BHP friends who have removed the trigger pin, which is the correct method and how much force is need to drive the pin out????? I know I am to use a hammer and a punch, but don't want to damage anything.

Well, mine's an Inglis so it may be different on a commercial version, but the pins etc should come out with no fuss. You may need to give it a tap, but not a hard whack. Use a plastic mallet, if you need to hit it at all. It won't damage the finish if you miss.
Take out that useless mag safety while you're at it. Improves the trigger pull. Pop out the wee pin on the trigger and pull the mag safety plunge rand spring out the back of the trigger. The trigger doesn't need to be out of the frame to do it either. Just remember that the pistol will fire without the mag inserted.

I think tolerances have changed...they are frequently a sob to get out. I'd also advise using new roll pins when reassembling. THose have a finite life...Brownells has them all - inexpensive.

What Canuck said, I've got four BHP's and have had the trigger out in all of them. The Inglis is easy, but 2 of the MK III's were really a bear to get out and I wound up replacing them later.

I'm pretty sure it is from right to left. I confirmed that by looking at the dings I put into the first HP I removed the trigger from! Make sure the frame is solid and flush to a solid piece of wood, use a brass pin and a heavy hammer, one whack at a time between looks, don't be afraid to give it a good thump.
Good luck.

Similar story. My Inglis was no big deal to disassemble the last time I did it--a long time ago. My 1996 FN was extremely difficult--not a casual thing.

Something that is not often mentioned is how often removal of the magazine safety *doesn't* make a great difference in the trigger pull. BHPs aren't noted for the excellence of the trigger pull as a rule. Too many parts and angles working against you.

Still better than a Glock, though.
