I like large caliber handguns for personal protection and often carry either a 45 Colt or a 44 mag. Both are 4" Mountain Guns. I prefer Winchester Silvertips in the 45 Colt and I have tried several 44 special loads in the magnum Mtn. Gun.. I rarely shoot magnum loads in the 44 Mountain Gun, but could if needed, even though I don't like it much.

I have shot a lot of fixed sighted guns, & for me I'd rather they shoot low. It's an easy matter to file a bit off the front sight to bring them to shoot to the sights than it is to build up the front sight. I'm just very sure it's the load & not me before I touch the sight with a file!

I've had to have that done too & that's a trip to the gunsmith as I don't heli-arc weld.

If you are satisified though, that's the important thing.

I never got the memo that informed me that I'm woefully defenseless with anything other than a hi-cap Tupperware 9/.40.
