Did you notice on the Nagant it also says "After $25 mail in rebate"? I saw a Cabelas add also for $99, no mail in rebate required...

Lincoln4, thanks for the heads up!

I did not see the Nagant at Cabela's when I first looked, but I was looking at the leaked online version. Now I have the hard copy and paged through it...$99 without the mail-in rebate wins hands down!

No ammo

Can u believe that there is no ammo on sale for Black Friday in Waco Texas. Went in to Mart to drink coffe with the Dead Peker club and got a paper. Got home looking at adds no ammo an only a few guns at acadamy. I guess i will have to wait till Sat. and buy at Market Hall. Have a good day and say a prayer for our troops.

Buds Gun Shop has a box of 20 5.56 Federal for sale for $7.99 that's $160 for a case of 1000!

Don't know if its a Black Friday deal but pretty good deal either way!

That's a normal price, and it is NOT $160 for a case of 1,000.

It's $400 a case, plus shipping, plus the credit card fee.

Not a good deal.

Really? i usually end up paying around $300! Mind helping a bro out and tell me where you normally order? (or PM me for the sake of not highjacking this thread)

Thanks!!

$400+ for a case is average.

You won't be able to find a case of brass case 5.56 for $300 right now.

If you can, by all means, PM me with the source. :)

OK, let me explain myself.. I have been smoking a turkey from 8am today and decided that that can't go without a beer.. as a result I totally messed up my math with this whole deal! Sorry, my mistake, scratch that whole twisted math thing in my earlier posts.. im going back to my turkey

@warp: try freedom munitions, they will sell a case of 1000 for like $350

PSA has Geissle SSA for $150 and SSA-E for $180.

I'm being very un-smart today myself. I went all the way through placing an order after triple checking it and then realized it was only 500 rounds and not 1,000. Cancelled immediately.

Their M193 is $344/1k. I'd rather spend the money for a known-quantity from one of the major manufacturers, but thanks anyway, I'll bookmark them and kee pan eye

Agreed, the latest nearest thing I saw was a case of .223 from Fleet Farm for $300. Cabela's has 500 rounds cans of American Eagle .223 for $160...so $320 for 1000...good but not great.

The .50cal ammo cans at Bass Pro are ACTUALLY .30cal ammo cans. LAME!

They measure 11"x7"x4". Glad I read the ad again before getting up early.

Just a FYI before anyone else makes the mistake that I almost made tomorrow morning.

The best BF deal would be if an on-line store would offer to waive the hazmat fee (aka pay it themselves) on orders over, say, $200. Alas, no joy on that one.

Looks like I'll be braving the HRBT on Saturday for the SGK show and twice/year Bass Pro run. Sometimes I wonder why I bother since it'll cost me as much in gasoline, show entry, and lunch as I would have spent paying the hazmat fee on line. But it's a day knocking elbows with other shooters...

That is where I am headed now. The only black friday shopping I did was this shooting mat. It was 29.99 yesterday. It was 45.99 all week until yesterday when it changed. Guess it went back today. Bummer. At 29.99 I couldn't pass it up. A fellow THR member from our range told me it would be on sale for black friday for $30. I am glad I checked it yesterday, and didn't wait for today to check. I'm gonna shoot an F Class match for the first time ever in February.

Noticed Dick's was selling the standard Ruger 10/22 for $179 on Friday and Saturday.

So yesterday morning (Thanksgiving Day) having morning coffee and talking to my wife. I never bother with Black Friday anything. Looking through the sales flyers in the paper and noticed Gander Mountain was selling the American Eagle 55 grain .223, 1,000 round cans for $349 (Cans may vary by location). They open at 9 AM.

Thinking I don't really need 1,000 rounds of .223 but what the hell. My wife asked if it was a good deal and I said good, not great but good. She suggested I get some and Gander Mountain is about a 15 min ride in traffic. I figure what the heck and decide to go. I got there at about 9:05 just after opening and it wasn't bad at all. Grabbed my boolits and checked out. I was home before 9:30 from my great shopping experience.

They were also selling the Nagant Revolvers for $100 and a few people were looking at them but I grabbed my can and left. I get home and my wife tells me I should have bought two. Go figure! :) I was not about to venture out again. For the hundred bucks I should have grabbed a Nagant just for the heck of it.

Anyway, once I shoot my way through this stuff I'll have more .223 brass to load. I guess I'll never say never as to getting myself out and about on a holiday to shop.

Now in other shopping news:

Cops: Mass. bargain-hunter took home TV, left 2-year-old boy behind...

Not quite sure how you manage that trick?

Sports Authority

These people had advertised ammo at "buy one, get 2nd (of = or lesser value) 50% off", so I went in to check it out. Having a new-to-me .357 was looking for some HD/SD ammo and more of the same for my mother's .38 Special.

:cuss::fire: ALL THEY HAD WAS FMJ-FP & LRN "TARGET" AMMO!! :barf:

Walked out and went elsewhere.

Black Friday sales are mostly the classic "Bait and Switch" con.Merchants advertise a very low price on an item to get you in the store. That's the bait. When you try to buy it, you're told "We just sold out of that item but we have this item that almost identical but costs more." That's the switch. Sportsmans Warehouse did this con today. They advertised a Hornady Lock'N'Load powder dispenser for $159.98. When my stepson tried to buy one 3 minutes after the store opened he was told they had already sold out. J.C. Penneys did the same thing to my wife this morning with a coffee maker. If we stopped acting like greedy children, merchants would stop running this con. In the words of the great H.L.Mencken:"Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people."
