Lately I noticed a few complete black powder guns being sold on eBay.
Not many and they're few and far between.
The one that first drew my attention was an older Traditions Tracker .54 inline, nickeled with a 1 in 48" twist and a #11 nipple.
It was in nice shape and ended up selling for about $175 with active bidding.
I thought that maybe eBay had let a complete gun slip through their system.
I've also seen one seller's ad for new complete Lyman Plains Pistol kits, and he has more than one.
And then there's the very old antique muzzle loaders that are being sold intact rather than being parted out.
It seems that 99.9% of the black powder gun ads on eBay are for guns with at least some parts removed which the seller's state is done in order to comply with eBay's rules and gun sale policy.
I can only imagine that eBay is letting some complete gun auctions be listed intentionally since the ads are left up until completion of the auction.
But perhaps some gun auctions are being caught and stopped?
Among the other items that I've noticed for sale on eBay are cast lead bullets by a dealer that used to sell on the GunAction website.
I noticed after his few ads were gone that new ones didn't come back up but not sure why.
I've seen some other lots of old muzzle loading bullets but not very many.
Perhaps their rules are relaxed a bit for black powder items since simply typing bullets in the eBay search box doesn't bring up any results.
Also an occasional full tin or two of percussion caps being sold as collectibles.
Most cap ads are only for empty tins, but a few have been listed as being sealed and full.
eBay is also allowing air guns to be sold again.
Since I hadn't looked at eBay very much for a time, when I see changes it's a surprise.
Has anyone else noticed any of these black powder gun sale ads or are as surprised as I was to hear about them on eBay?
I guess it shows that eBay can slowly change with the times and isn't as rigid as they could be.
