"Ah, hello, good morning, fellow extremists. Glad you all could make it out today. Unfortunately, looking around, I'm afraid a very disappointing thing has happened. There are, ah, just too many of us to be considered extremists any more, so I'm going to have to ask you all to go back home and shoulder the responsibility of being normal and ordinary. Sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused you, and thanks again for coming."

My confession:

"I live in the suburbs, in a four-bedroom house. I drive a Subaru. I shop at Eddie Bauer. I like to cook, but sometimes I splurge a little and go out to eat with my wife, a travel agent. Sometimes I buy a cup of coffee at Starbucks. I volunteer at the local hospital, and I give a lot of my income to local charities. I have a golden retriever. Mostly I vote for Republicans, but when there's a Dem on the ticket who I like better I vote for him.

"I am an extremist."

Is there any reliable data on how many buyers (say, since October) are new gun owners, versus previous owners adding to their collections?

why can't the brady campaign start donating their untold millions to something that would help their goal, like local law enforcement?

If their goal was to reduce crime, they would be pushing for "shall-issue", inmate education, and the decriminalization of marijuana, however, their goal is to eliminate the private ownership of firearms in the United States, so that's where their money goes.

It makes a lot more sense when you judge liars by their actions rather than their words.

From the Article:

Peter Hamm, of the Washington-D.C.-based Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, questions what he sees as the "lunacy" of those who are buying guns and fear-mongering the complicated issues of gun owner rights and gun control.

The Brady's are the champions of fear mongering and lunacy. These statements by Hamm are intended to scare the pro gun control forces into action. Who demonstrates more "lunacy" than the people who say that a new Assault Weapons Ban is needed to prevent the Mexican drug cartels from getting grenades, night vision goggles, full auto assault rifles, RPG's and high explosives? I think Hamm is scared. Who mongered the fear into him, Sarah Brady?

"They demonized Barack Obama as the worst threat to gun ownership ever and scared people," Hamm said. "In this economic environment, I question the sanity of extremists who are buying up guns. What kind of choices are they making for their families?"

So now he's concerned about gun owners families? Riggghhhhht. How patronizing can a guy get?

Obama's own actions and history on guns is what has demonized him. It left a black stain (sorry) on his record. All people are doing is recognizing the truth about him, despite the media covering for his past extremist views on guns. I question the sanity of extemists who fear law abiding citizens who own firearms, as if those law abiding citizens would immediately turn into deranged killers the minute they left the sporting goods store with a new firearm.

He also suggests that everyone take a second look at what Congress is actually doing for gun control.
Hamm said the spike in gun sales is "proof positive that there's no problem in buying firearms in America."
"We are very disappointed with Congress on the gun issue," Hamm said. "Congress is going in the wrong direction and trying to eviscerate gun-control laws such as the D.C. handgun ban."

I don't need to take a second look at Congress. It's controlled by left wing Democrats who tend to love more gun control, even if it's not all that popular today from a political standpoint. Here's the leaders of the party: Pelosi, Feinstein, Boxer, Barney Frank, Frank Lautenberg, Dick Durbin, Ted Kennedy (not for long), Chuck Schumer, Chris Dodd, Eric Holder, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Harry Reid. Of all of those, only Harry Reid has tended to protect the Second Amendment and vote against gun control. More power to him in that regard. The others in that list are losers when it comes to protecting the 2nd A. I am happy to see that Mr. Hamm has his sandwich in a basket over Congress and their avoidance, so far, of any new gun control. Let's hope he gets his picnic totally ruined if the dems stay scared on the topic of more gun control.

That’s funny I said the same thing about people who donated money to HIS campaign. OOPS! I better not talk like that someone will get mad at me and say

"Just because someone else’s political views don’t line up exactly like your does not mean you should make them feel left out or that we don’t want them on this forum"

Sorry! I am still clinging to my guns and religion

Sorry I did it again, oh well people say I am an @$$ :neener:

I swore to defend the Constitution against ALL enemies, foreign AND domestic! No I will not appologize for that.

This should open the eyes of the leaders of the Democratic party, that Americans are so fearfull of them, that they go out and stock up on guns and ammo. Obama will never achieve his vision of a socialist nation, not with Amercians arming themselves to the teeth, by the millions.:)

I would like to take the time and opportunity to thank Mr. Hamm and his minions for forcing me to do something that I said that I would do "someday". Mr. Hamm forced me to realize that "someday" was today and I purchase a lower AR receiver and an upper from LaRue. I am so grateful, as a matter-of-fact, that I am going to be sending him a picture of my symbol of freedom along with a thank-you letter. I must also include pictures of my 5 and 6 y/o boys with their new .22s as well since everyone loves photos of kids. :D

I just love the fact that this guy talking about banning guns, is totally undermining their actual goal of reducing the number of guns in the hands of citizens. The more he talks, the faster they sell.

Keep bloviating Mr. Hamm! Though I hate having to pay a little more for my guns/ammo, i know the more guns sold to American citizens, the harder they will be to ban :)
