I work in a normal office building, and I work with mostly women. They are, for all intents and purposes, your normal middle to upper class women. Some suv driving soccer moms (literally), some single mothers, others just single. Ages vary from 22-60.
Just a little background. I keep my hobby private because my company is VERY anti. The front doors are decked out with huge signs that state it's against the law to bring firearms into a building that forbids it, along with on their property (I park next door).
We were talking just before Christmas about being at camp, and one of the women mentioned that they used to shoot .22 rifles at camp when she was growing up. She mentioned how much fun she had. Another lady said that her father used to hunt, and took her to the range when she was little.
Eventually, after a few minutes of talking, it was brought up that they wanted to try it. So I basically set it up. I talked with a local range and rented it for an hour after hours. I brought a couple of handguns and a couple of .22 rifles. We made some competitions and had teams.
Well, yesterday was the day we went, and the ladies had a blast (pun intended). And, not surprisingly, they were good shots! Two out shot me!
They are still talking about it today, and every single one of them wants to go back! A few were talking about buying guns too. I'm happy to report that we may have added about 10 more people to the gun culture.
