maybe a Marlin 39.

Nothing wrong with that. I got into pump and lever action 22s around 2000. I eventually got all the guns I wanted. The marlin 39 is huge and heavy compared to the rest but they are one of my favorite guns. They feel more like a real rifle than the small, thin, saddle rifle types. The 9422 is my favorite by a good margin. The old winchester pumps (62) and the Remington 12 are close though. Then maybe the Marlin 39 and Bl-22. The henry/ithaca lever guns and the Rossi pumps are nice, simple and light too but way down my list personally. I keep them mostly for teaching kids to shoot and small game hunt. If they break or get hurt parts are plentiful and cheap and they are accurate.

Some day a Remington 121, will cross my path again.
As a matter of fact I saw one, but seemed to long comparing to the Winchester when I handled.

Putting it back together was not that hard, but the ejector and spring were a bit of a PIA. It took several try’s to get the lower action in and keep the ejector lined up.
The rest of the rifle was simple.
This was the first time I had ever had a BL22 apart and I do have to say that I was a little disappointed. The lower action body that holds the fire control system is made of pot metal. It is also painted. I much prefer the all steel Winchester 9422.

I'd say you got an excellent deal on a great little rifle!!! Hope you get a lot of enjoyment from it!!!
