Hello - Gander Mountain has the Browning BPS Tactical on sale for $350. I tried to find this gun on Browning's web site, but can't find it. It's made in Japan by Miroku, that I know, cause I've seen one on display. I liked it because it fits me better than a Mossberg or Remington, and the price is decent. A few questions: 1) Is this gun still made?
2) Generally speaking, is it a decent gun? (I know you can't load a shell individually through the side, but not sure I care.)
3) Being a BPS, is any other BPS barrel interchangeable? So, for example, could I put a slug barrel or trap barrel on this, if I want to at some point. Thanks.

Yup, saw those at Gander. Pretty tempting. BPS's in general are superb pump action shotguns. The barrel doesn't look like it would interchange with other BPS barrels as the Tactical's barrel ring is quite a bit further out to accommodate the magazine extension.

I'm still tempted to look at one/buy one though.

The thing about the ad is that it advertises the BPS with a seven-shot capacity, but the shotgun pictured seems to hold five in the tube. I believe there are a couple of different "tactical" or "defense" versions of the BPS with different capacities, but the Browning site is of no help.

IlMonster I think you're right that the barrels might not interchange. Once issue might be that it looks like the Tactical receiver doesn't have the hump at the front that "blends" into the rib of a regular field barrel. Maybe the barrel would fit anyway, though. Not sure.
