If you are sizing bullets that are on the hard side and trying to swage more than .003"-.005", it's going to be more difficult. A dab of lube will help greatly (case sizing lube, alox/45-45-10, Vaseline, and I have even used chapstick will work and you are probably going to lube them after sizing anyway)...
I have not checked yet but I think one of my cavities is throwing a slightly larger bullet than the others
Because many pass easily through while others need a c clamp to push them through
I don’t cast lead any longer, but still size jacketed bullets for a few cartridges - not many lead alloys harder to draw than a jacketed bullet. I roll them in a lemonade powder canister with a few drops of Lee Lube-alox, dry base down on wax paper, and they pop right through the drawing die. Maybe as much resistance as FL sizing 300 wm? Not hard, but not light finger pressure either.
The next time you get a hard one measure and compare to a sized one.
And check for lead build up on the mold that could be holding one side open a bit making a oversize oval bullet that will size harder.
