A buddy and me got into a conversation about bullpup shotguns. We wondered if there was a bullpup conversion for the Remington 870 super magnum pump shotgun.

Anyone know if there is such a thing?

Thanks

There is/may be a bullpup, pump-operated shotgun coming out in 2009, but it isn't from Remington. Do a search for Monolith P-12 if the idea interests you.
:)

Seems you'd need to be double-jointed to operate a pump bullpup!

That is likely the reason there aren't any.

That looks like a terrible idea, something about a shotgun shell going off right under your face...

It doesn't look like it would allow you to pump really well, I think it would make the muzzle wave all over pumping with your hands so close together like that.

I was looking into a Bullpup stock for a friend's old 22. We were about to order it when I read comments about the stock (which was right around $100). The stock included some kind of trigger extension and a trigger on the new stock.

Then I read comments about people who had purchased the Bullpup stock and they were mostly negative. The comment that stands out in my mind was that the extension from the new trigger back to the original trigger was a plastic rod and sometimes fell out of the slot it rides in.

Basically, most people said it was a total waste of money and NOT TO BUY IT!

Are you talking about a bullpup 22lr or a bullpup shotgun? Just so you know, this tread is about trying to find a bullpup shotgun based on a Remington 870 super mag shotgun.

I was referring to an aftermarket bullpup stock.

If the shotgun is built as a bullpup, that would probably be fine, however, I would be wary of any bullpup stocks to convert an existing shotgun barrel and action into a bullpup.

EXCUSE ME, it sure sounds to me like they want to CONVERT an EXISTING 870 (isn't THAT what CONVERSION means?).

Just my $0.02

Calm down. Allow me to make this clear... again. I'm talking about shotguns. That's why I posted in the "shotgun" forum. 22's are a much smaller caliber than any shotgun. Shotguns are capable of firing slugs and buck shot. That's something I don't think any 22 or 22 bullpup can do. Shot guns come in several forms. I would recommend doing a google search on shotguns. There is a wealth of information on the subject. However, there doesn't seem to be any information about bullpup shotguns based on the Remington 870 super magnum pup action. Which brings us back to the original reason I posted this thread.

Thanks for your comments on 22's though. :D

You are correct. However, my assumption is you were looking to buy a CONVERSION stock to turn your 870 into a BULLPUP.

I was stating what I read about BULLPUP CONVERSION STOCKS, PERIOD.

Take it how you want.

My take on it is that, if a .22 bullpup conversion stock is junk at $100, what do you think you will get for a SHOTGUN bullpup stock?

Perhaps that is not the answer you want to hear. Perhaps you want to hear that converting your 870 will be a grand idea and will work out for you.

It will work well, and will work perfectly for you. There, I stated it. Now have fun.

Oh, and I was, and am completely calm!:D
