I'd be happy ppu is much better the win and it's cip spec.
We all had OP stories here ,a while back. I've gotten some darn good deals. Also had to cancel more than a few orders. Never had a clue till I cut into the box. Hence yesterday's title. Their title started with "Winchester USA". Not " W TARGET & PRACTICE. That's the diff. That's how they got me . This time.Don't buy from Optics Planet. Its really that simple. I know I don't and there are a lot of others who don't either.
Can't figure out the 1 k part but I don't get out much1K head stamp?
Bought plenty of made in usa in 2012. It was in every Walmart
Has there been a "Buick" only engine since 1981?Like back in the day when people buying a Buick got a dang Chevy engine. That fact will show your age.
Kind of cost inefficient that every GM division used their own proprietary engines, where Ford and Chrysler used “corporate” engines across the line.Has there been a "Buick" only engine since 1981?
Don't you know ignorance is bliss. I don't require proof for your comment. Who knows what really goes on. Thanks for inside info.Unfortunately, I have no way of showing you, but the paperwork that accompanied the ammo when it arrived at the Walmart I worked at had country of origin on it. I always looked through them as an Inventory Management Associate, though mostly to see what was coming in for personal reference. The 7.62x39 and 7.62x54R Winchester White box was made in the Czech Republic, which meant it was loaded by Seller & Bellot, even though the head stamp was Winchester.
Perhaps PPU got lazy and didn't head stamp the brass 'Winchester' or maybe their contract with Winchester didn't require it, but the S&B made Win. x39 and x54R was head stamped Winchester. I bought about 5 boxes of each to augment my Lapua in x39, and Graf's (who's brass was also made by S&B, BTW, and head stamped "Graf's") brass stock.
I've also had problems with Optics Planet. Never againOptics Planet...........never again for me.
Is it berdan primed?
Oddly it also says made in the USAit says Made in Serbia on the box
Oddly it also says made in the USA
I need some of them lolI picked up some "Troy" headstamps at the range recently and research says they are connected to Turkey (?) and somehow shipped in a Winchester box saying Made in USA.
Plan to toss them.
My agency received some 230gr .45 Ball USA ('white box') ammunition in the 2000's, which had been contracted out to S&B. The rounds were packaged in the standard USA box, but contained in 2 plastic trays. It smelled different when fired, and the muzzle blast signatures varied a bit.Winchester has contracted PPU or Seller & Ballot to make their 7.62 x39 and x54R for decades
I need some of them lol
I agree the Serbian PPU is better ammo and better brass. The problem with Winchester white box ammo is that I ever bought a box of their crap at all back in the day.Probably better than the made in the USA Winchester, sadly.
The Winchester USA and the Winchester Target & Practice labeled boxes appear to have the same exact Product Code of Q3174 and UPC # of 020892201903. Winchester seems to be using two differently labeled boxes to sell the exact same product. OpticPlanet is simply using a stock image for the UPC.We all had OP stories here ,a while back.
