I'm buying some small repair parts (barrel link and extractor for a couple Star pistols) from Spain. Are there any hoops I'll need to jump through regarding imprort rules etc. that I should be aware of? I'm purchasing from an individual, not a business. This is considered hobby related.
Thanks for the help,
dean

As long as the following conditions are met, it will not be neceasry for you to file a form 6 in order to legally import the parts:
b. Minor components and parts of Category I(a) firearms, except
barrels, cylinders, receivers (frames) or complete breech
mechanisms, when the total value does not exceed $100 wholesale
in any single transaction. The $100 wholesale value supersedes the
previous dollar threshold of $500 wholesale in any single transaction.

I have been trying for two and a half years to get a slide and barrel for a Sphinx 2000 pistol. The sole distributor/importer of Sphinx pistols cites 'difficulties' in getting the Form 6 approved by BATFE as the reason I can't get a slide and barrel.
