I have been looking at Caldwell rests and had decided on the Rock Jr. Midway carries them for about 75$. Looking through another online store for ammo I found that they are selling the Remington Shot Saver for about $39. Has anyone used this rest? Would you say it is about as good as any of the Caldwell rests in the same price range?

Err, the Rock Delux is the $75 model, the Rock Jr. is $40 at Midway.

I wouldn't go so far as to recommend a Sinclair if someone is looking at a $75 rest, even though they are nice. I personally would go with a few sandbags before I invested in another "cheap" rifle rest.

I am making my own right now out of an old scissor jack. None that are less than $150 appear to be worth the money, and none that are in that price range appear to be better than what I could make myself.

I have a Rock Jr., and for what it is, it's fine. I wouldn't, however, use it for any serious competition shooting or target work that I meant to do my best at. That said, it's fine to hold up the front of your rifle. I am in the market right now for a better front rest, but $300+ for a Sinclair benchrest? I don't think so. There has to be something between the two.
