RE: California ALERT! Semi-autos in danger!

This wacko lefty crap is the reason I left California 15 years about...I got sick and tired of giving my hard earned money (via the HUGE TAX BITE) to have my so called representative take away my Constitutional Rights...

The only thing I can tell you is leave because it’s only going to get worst in that God forsaken state.

The question that i have is why cant i get my taxes back if I dont like the decisions they make? they dont make any decisions based on logic or statistics that make sense so why cant I have my money back? If a product I buy from a store is defective as long as I have the reciept and sometimes without it I can get it returned.

And, what's the biggest thing a shooter will do? Log on, post a reactionary statement, and go back to watching TV a movie or perhaps even cleaning or working on a firearm.

I noted here some years back that the antis file lawsuit after lawsuit, hoping to win a few, relying on the cost to drive gun mfrs out of business. I suggested we should do likewise, with the help of some pro-2A lawyers.

A couple contacted me.

Their first question?

Was I going to pay them money?

If not, ah, well, they really didn't care enough to proceed.

This wasn't a few hundred for filing fees. It was TENS OF THOUSANDS, to pay for their professional time.

The antis get scumbags who will nevertheless push their beliefs pro bono. We get vultures who won't volunteer their time unless there's a check involved. but they support the Second Amendment. Right.

Makes me wonder if I should start demanding professional Guild rate for writing supporting letters and ad copy for pro 2A organizations. Maybe I'm the sucker here...

Sounds like the old "you don't need a semi-automatic for hunting or target shooting" argument. That's funny because millions do use semi's for those purposes. Just another example of the anti's telling you what you do and don't need.

Like I've always said, California is great state to visit, but the last state I'd ever want to live in. I feel for you CA gun owners, good luck fightin' the system, don't give up!

I see the same "sporting purpose" argument time and time again, and it makes me sick.

It does not matter what the weapon is used for; the 2nd amendment was not named to protect target shooting and hunting. I heard that bit** Pelosi arguing that hunters don't need automatic weapons to kill a deer in some article the other day. . . along with some other crap about 'for the children.'

While it is nice to go to the range and kill some paper, or go to the sticks and kill some steaks, sausage, etc, it is protection from a government run by POLITICIANS LIKE PELOSI that the 2nd Amendment was named for.

The founders did not trust government, pure and simple. The idea that the government has ANY authority to regulate personal arms is akin to allowing the fox to guard the henhouse.

I have also heard that "well, if arms cannot be regulated by the government, then that means that nuclear warheads should be unregulated for private citizens, huh?!"

NO! The militia is mentioned in the 2nd Amendment, as well as in other parts of various writings of the Founders to emphasize that the PEOPLE are the militia. They are expected to have the ability to defend against all enemies, FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC.

The militia is expected to follow through on this not by bringing tanks, submarines, and aircraft carriers to battle, but by bringing the common infantry weapons of the day for their personal use in defense of their country.

This would include AUTOMATIC WEAPONS, GRENADE LAUNCHERS, and ANY OTHER WEAPONS THAT THE COMMON SOLDIER IN OUR ARMED FORCES WOULD USE TODAY.

The Founders wanted the people to be more powerful than the government in case of the need to defend against tyrrany. What position does anyone here think we are in today as we are sitting here talking about what part of our rights we will be "allowed" to keep by our government?

Doesn't look good to me. We need a change; the question is what to do.

Actually, much of the artillery during the Civil War was privately funded.

But it doesn't matter--how many people could afford a nuke? And if Bill Gates wanted one, what law would stop him? This is another straw man argument.

The government has a legitimate interest in stopping people from piling up enough TONS of explosives to risk their neighbors if it goes off. Nukes would fall under that category.

So I propose a compromise: They let me own nukes, and I'll register them;)

Damn, no kidding?

I read in Richard Poe's Seven Myths of Gun Contrl that Switzerland has
sold off anti-aircraft weapons and howitzers to its citizens.

Also, old warplanes are sometimes privately owned in the U.S. It is definitely in the realm of possibility for a moderately wealthy person in Nevada to buy an F-86, do the paperwork for six M2s, and go out and have fun.

The whole situation is just out of control. . . . especially here in my neck of the woods. Take a look at what these idiots just introduced here in California. Nothing like being a peon for the ruling elite. . . . .

AB 362, as introduced, De Leon. Ammunition.
Existing law generally regulates the sale of ammunition.
This bill would require that commencing July 1, 2008, unless
specifically excluded, no person shall sell or transfer more than 50
rounds of handgun ammunition in any month unless they are registered
as a handgun ammunition vendor, as defined. The bill would also
require these vendors to obtain a background clearance for those
employees who would handle ammunition in the course and scope of
their employment. The bill would require the Department of Justice to
maintain a registry of registered handgun ammunition vendors, as
specified. Violation of these provisions, as specified, would be a
misdemeanor.
The bill would also provide that no retail seller of ammunition
shall sell, offer for sale, or display for sale, any handgun
ammunition in a manner that allows that ammunition to be accessible
to a purchaser without the assistance of the retailer or employee
thereof. Violation of these provisions would be punishable as an
infraction with a fine of $500, or as a misdemeanor.
The bill would further provide that no ammunition or reloaded
ammunition may be delivered by a common or contract carrier pursuant
to a retail transaction unless certain conditions exist. A violation
of these provisions would be punishable as a misdemeanor, with
enhancements for prior violations.
By creating new crimes, this bill would impose a state-mandated
local program.
Existing law provides that it is a crime to sell ammunition to a
minor, or to sell handgun ammunition to a person who is under 21
years of age.
This bill would provide that any person under 21 years of age who
purchases, or who attempts to purchase, handgun ammunition by using a
false identification document, or by otherwise misrepresenting the
person's age, and any minor who purchases, or attempts to purchase,
any ammunition by using a false identification document, or otherwise
misrepresenting the person's age, is guilty of a misdemeanor.
By creating a new crime, this bill would impose a state-mandated
local program.
The California Constitution requires the state to reimburse local
agencies and school districts for certain costs mandated by the
state. Statutory provisions establish procedures for making that
reimbursement.
This bill would provide that no reimbursement is required by this
act for a specified reason.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: yes.
State-mandated local program: yes. "

I think it's just about time for a revolution. :banghead: :cuss: Sooooo angry about these politicians right now. The Founders would have beaten people like this. . . . .

Moving out of this *&#(#^$(@& communist state this year.

I'm continually amused and outraged that Comicfornia legistraitors believe restrictions like that have any force.

I can send a @!#$ing PALLET of ammo to CA. No law of theirs applies to me here in IN.

"Our law says you can't ship that by common carrier in this state."

"I'm not in your state. Get bent. Drop dead. Eat @#$^%. Go #@$."

They've done that before. The problem is that cowards keep knuckling under and complying.

They know that these laws do nothing to control crime. This is nothing but a incremental removal of firearms in the state. The rulers know that us commoners will likely revolt if they attempt an outright ban, so they slip whatever restrictions they can in wherever they can.

At this point, it is such a pain in the ass to sell weapons in this state that the number of FFL holders has dwindled to nearly nothing. I called the ATF about an FFL application last year and the lady on the phone was surprised that I was from California. She said that she personally only knew of a handful of new applicants from this state.

Make it more difficult to sell weapons, continually place restrictions on what can be owned, get as many registered as possible, regulate ammo, get those vendors on paper; it all adds up to a carefully implemented plan to abolish arms in this state. I have no doubt that they will try it eventually. . . . . I'm just glad I won't be here . . . . .

Edited: Just looked at calguns.net after I posted here. . . . found this:

http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/pub/07-08/...ntroduced.html

love how they state in these idiot bills that they are brought by "the people of California" . . . .

and this . . . .

I have to go smack my head into a wall now. . . .

California Alert! Semi-autos in danger!

To you people in the commie state of California,It is time to do alot of petittions of recall you reps in the state house and recall them because they are taking your rights away from you law-abiding firearms owners. It is also time to tell the hollywood actors that if you feel threatened that you will hold THEM[Anti-gun actors ]Accountable for them coaxing the reps in your legislature by taking your firearms away from you. and dont forget your senates too. hold them accountable for each time a criminal breaks in to your home ,place of business and your life to do harm to you or your family. Put in some pro-gun people to replace them on the ballot so they can get the ball rolling to bring back the gunshows and law-abiding gun owners rights in California. Last time I visited your state was back in the 60s and I have not been back since. Until you peoples do something with them STUPID GUN LAWS you have. I live in Nebraska, where we have the right to have firearms. Yes we have to have a state card, and in Omaha, where there is that Stupid Mandatory gun registration,it dont take actually to long. but,we still have our drive-by shootings each week by gang members,we have a pretty safe state outlining with law-enforcement and we even help them when their backsides are in a bind. And we have finally a ccw permit and training to go along with the gunlaws of Nebraska. It is up to you peoples in California to start to try the petions for recall your reps in the state house, and cities to clear these goofy gun laws you have and I wish you Great Luck with the process. Rich Ziemies,Omaha,Nebraska:cuss: :banghead:

They'd probably consider that a threat.

I wouldn't do it.

And boycotting the big names worth millions won't accomplish anything.

There is nothing that will change this state short of an all-out armed uprising. The districts are completely rigged (state assembly has an approval rating right up there with stepping on rusty nails and getting crabs) so the same seats always go to the same parties. There are a few good Republicans here, but they are in the 2% compared to the bad R's and ALL of the D's.

The politicians here are insane; they are killing business and pushing the natives out while filling the state up with illegals. The native population keeps going down while the actual population keeps going up. Illegals love it here (lots o' free goodies) so they come here, use our public services, and keep popping out kids; all the while bringing a 3rd-world lifestyle complete with violence, drugs, and gangs.

I am moving this year; I can't handle it anymore and the idiots outnumber the rest of us now. Nevada will be the place for now, and then later it will be Montana, or maybe Wyoming. I used to live near Cody and it was heaven, wind and all, compared to this garbage.

By the way, you can stop referring to this as "your state." I have to think about that enough!! :barf: :scrutiny: :cuss: :banghead:
