I converted some .223 brass to 7.62X25. When I loaded the bullets in two cases they would not chamber in my M57. There appeared to be a bulge in the neck.

After browsing here, one thread mentioned running the loaded rounds back through the sizing die, without the decapping pin. I tried it and the rounds chambered perfectly.

Should I be concerned about the bullets being too tight in the brass?

YES!
You should be Very concerned!!!

Your necked down .223 brass is too thick in the neck.

You have to neck-ream or neck-turn them down to proper neck thickness before you load them!

You CANNOT resize a loaded round without Squishing the bullet inside the case too small to fit the bore any longer.
Your bullets are ruined.

Consider the sized case is too small for the bullet after FL sizing.
So you use the expander die to open it back up so the bullet will force-fit in the case.

If the case neck is thicker then normal?
And the bullet inside it is the correct diameter?
The load won't fit in the chamber.

As you just found out!

A .223 case, where you cut it off, is at least 2-3 times thicker then the case neck on the 7.62x25 pistol case.

Per RC's post my experience has been it can depend on the brass you start with. You may want to give this thread a read.

Right after I went through this fiasco years ago Starline began selling the 7.62 X 25 brass. When I did it I was loading for a CZ 52 pistol and I used RCBS 30 Mauser dies which worked well. I also used Sierra 30 Cal (308 Dia.) bullets 85 grain.

Hopefully Starline will have some brass in the near future. Sure beats making the stuff.
