Can anyone help me identify my Great Grandfathers pocket knife?

I was told this was the knife he used when he worked on the railroads before WWII. I know nothing more than that, I cannot make out the markings on the blade any better than you can see in the picture. The top line looks like it says "SC7...", the middle line "J. M.... Y (or N maybe)", and the last line almost looks like it says "Sheet Steel". But I am just guessing. I would appreciate any help on finding out more info about this please. Thank you in advance.

At least I got the Sheffield England part right. ;)

Be careful when cleaning it, you don't want to do any damage to the knife and take away value from it.
