Maybe the destruction of the buildings was not an attempt to destroy evidence (what evidence, the 47 illegal weapons?) but was intended to serve the same purpose as scattering the ashes of the Germans hung for their war crimes. I don't know the reason, I can only guess as everyone else. I have not found any testimony (yet) on an explanation but IIRC this certainly is not the first time LE has lost evidence or even had it stolen from the evidence room. Is the "missing" evidence harmfull to the government's case? Who KNOWS, its missing.
What!?
I have taken at least a decent enough look into this & have not yet seen one proof that there were any illegal weapons on-site.
Full-auto sears don't burn.
" ... was intended to serve the same purpose as scattering the ashes of the Germans hung for their war crimes."
" ... but IIRC this certainly is not the first time LE has lost evidence or even had it stolen from the evidence room ..."
What!?
"Lost" a (likely 32-36"X 80" steel door!? I've some experience here & that darned thing's gotta weigh in at 100+ pounds - AND is 32X80+" ..... how does one "lose" it or "have it stolen?"
How was it that the feds "lost" a whole steel door (which likely showed incredible amounts of incoming fire? Why was the entire site bulldozed? Why was the OK fed-bldg bulldozed & all subsequent "trash" removed to a fed-secured burial site? Certainly not to hide any eveidence .... nope, not that.
& in any event, assuming no malice or cover-up by the feds, how does one "lose" such evidence? Again, I have some experience in the chain of custody.
If nothing else, it shows the feds to be totally inept in even the barest of evidence retaining - which, I would hope, for one so entertained, to be in a bit of doubt.
"labgrade
What illegal laws are you taking about, Or do you mean unpopular laws?
Being a lawbreaker doesn't mean you are a "heroic patriot" or are you picking and choosing which laws you wish LE to be tough on? Even the NRA demands LE enforce existing laws rather than create new ones."
Ah yes. Bring out the NRA & their "just enforce the laws" policy. Don't go there. It's a losing policy.
I'd assume you mean these same who would agree that we prosecute folks for actually having the cheek to think the fed-level 2nd amendment (& various states' coonstitutions) actually mean what they say? "Shall not be infringed" come to mind?
"From the sub-committee's minority report ... "
"Additionally, it should be noted that evidence obtained from the
scene after the fire, conclusively proved that Koresh amassed a huge
cache of weapons and materials to manufacture illegal weapons. Although much evidence may have been destroyed by the April 19 fire set by the Davidians, at least 47 fully automatic weapons,"
Again, it has never been proven that the Davidians set fire to their own home.
& too, what's this "huge cache of weapons?" Koresh, was, by all accounts an FFL holder AND it did come out in the same testimony (I have it on tape, BTW. While Schumer was head of the Judiciary Committee.) that FFL-holders don't have a "huge cache of weapons." What they have is an inventory.
For the sole purpose of selling firearms.
"and materials to manufacture illegal weapons."
I have on hand "materials to manufacture illegal weapons. & so do you & so does every person o0n this board - as does about 90% of this country's population.
& again. Please do show the "AK47s"-link. Last I heard, it was M16s, & never proven - due to the destruction & fire ....
& back again to your "illegal versus unpopular laws" bit .... the BATF(E) is a tax agency, right? Is not that correct? & they went in with, what?, 100+ "agents" to enforce (at worst) a few exemptions of a $5-$200 tax violation. To quote (paraphrase) John R, "What!? You never owed the feds a few $1,000!"
They gonna come into your house with 100+ agents, shoot you & yours, burn your house down for a couple thousand dollars?
Are you nuts?
Are you?
I've (as thought by the state & by the feds at the time) to owe well over several $1,000 & turned out they were wrong. I've the "refunds" to prove it.
"Any doubts Koresh or others may have had about the validity of the
warrants should have been expressed through lawful means. However, instead of challenging the validity of the warrants through the judicial system, Koresh chose to instruct his followers to open fire on Federal agents in the lawful execution of their duties"
Again. All accounts show that the feds fired first.
Many accounts showed that the feds opened fire upon Koresk opening the door to ask them what they wanted. After tha - an illegal & totally out of whack aggressive lethal means assault,
& really. Koresh was in town almost every day. Why didn't the feds just pick him up in town?
Lookit.
Thought you were going to at the least look at some of the information provided to you.
Many others here have delved into this for as long as it's been.
You should at least do the same, & if coming to the same conclusion (we'll see you back in about a year, or so), we can talk again.
Nothing else, shoot me a PM w/home address (or some clany-way so "we" don't to know who you really are ... ) & I'll send you a copy of the Schumer Charade- the House Judiciary Committee Report video straight from CSPAN. That alone should perk at bit of interest in the guv's interest in truth.
(sorry for all the misspells - in a hurry .... )
