Can you substitute same weight bullets in load data?

Also... the right bullet for the job.
The faster cartridges need solid copper bullets a lot more than the slower ones.

Anything 2800 ft/s and below usually does just fine with a standard bullet. Loads that are faster than that will often shred standard bullets in medium to large game... and benefit greatly from copper.

Does a 30-30 up through a 30-06 really NEED a solid copper bullet for deer sized game? Not at all. Plus, they are often harder to expand, which can be a detriment. Does a .233, 22-250 or 7mm mag benefit? Definitely! Standard bullets have a hard time holding together at 3000+ fps.
I kinda think the optimal bullet for a 257 Weatherby is a mono.

My bad on that... I misread the statement, but the same still applies. You criticize our advise here at THR, yet Alan and BARNES isn't going to assume any responsibility, either, 'official representative' or not.
The advice given here to ask the manufacturers or the advice to never interpolate data across bullet types?

Yes, the advice given in writing is a liability and even a bad lawyer would have no problem convincing a jury the Barnes representative misled the consumer which resulted in damages. Seriously, you’re arguing against the obvious. McDonald’s lost a multimillion dollar lawsuit over spilled coffee in their drive-thru. Do you really want to argue a gun industry corporation would win where McDonald’s lost?

So , what I have done, for any reason I am unable to locate what I would like to use or have with data. I have reached out to Hodgdon for their opinion on the matter. They have not let me down yet! Wanted to use Hornady s.p. #3031 with imr 4895 for 30.06. Could not find data online or in any of my books.( I don't have latest Hornady)So I reached out to them. The sent pic or data insert. Different bullet manufacturers, but I guessing since I gave them the manufacturers code for the bullet n they probably know this inexpensive bullet well from many ... they just said here same build of bullet...use this.

This is really not a starting charge or proper load development issue. The only point of real contention is a reasonable stopping point. For those in a need more velocity situation a top charge is where things get wild....
