Carrying a long gun in your vehicle in SC

I know that this may have already been discussed two thousand times but im not sure what to search for to find the answer.

what are the laws on carrying a long gun in your vehicle in SC. I would like to know as i would like to stay legal when carrying my hunting rifles and also i am considering keeping something in the truck since i am in the woods at some point on almost a daily basis.

Interestingly, we just had this discussion in a class over the weekend. Before we get to the specifics, IANAL!

That being said, after a search of the code of laws and discussion with other officers, my initial reaction stands - there is no prohibition (that we can find) against carrying long guns in your vehicle in SC.

Is that the definitive answer? Nope, we are subject to being corrected.

Anyone else have input?
