Latest news:

20" almost sold out (12 left), prices up and will go up even higher (according to CDNN rep.).

Any truth to that there is almost no difference in velocity for a .308 coming out a 24" to that of a 20" barrell?

A little, but not much more, nothing to really worry about less than 800 yards. Its only something to worry about when you transition from supersonic to transonic to subsonic.

I don't understand how they can raise the price when it has been advertised at a certain price. Talk about bait and switch.

then ya are ignorant of common and good business....

if you have the sale- which has been runnin a while now and ya run out of stock - and your cost to resupply goes up then you have to raise the price for the new stock...

So they did increase the price? I wouldn't have ordered one than anyway.

Right, $449 for a barreled action for a $1000 gun is a horrible price. Don't be bitter. It's a good price, period. I guess the ones in stores come with $550 stocks?

Well as I have posted in earlier post I recieved my barrled action last Thursday but the stock did not arrive with it, So i call CDNN and speak to customer service about it they told me it would be shipped as of last Thursday if not then, then Monday of this week.

Well Michelle from CDNN calls me yeterday and tells me it will be shipped today so just out of curiosity I call them back today to see if it was shipped yet they tell me they have no record of it being shipped yet but that if I didn't recieve it by this Friday to let them know and they would see where it is.

So my problem may be that if they only have a few barreled actions left and they send all the remaining stocks out with them then what? am I out a stock?

The stock was paid for when i purchased it along with the barreled reciever.

I'm very curious if any vendor's Win Model 70 stock can be easily modified to work with the detachable box mag of the FN.

It is possible to modify the Bottom inlet from Hinged floorplate to DBM. There will be a gap in the rear part, but it is easily filled in and colored to look good. Dosen't matter if it is my Bottom Metal or Factory Bottom metal

They seem like upstanding folks. They told me everything right up front before I said "yes" to placing the order. I bet if they messed up and over-sold the standard $99 stocks they would do you right on the $199 stocks. I would think so, anyways.

Yeah they are nice folks I don't have a doubt that i will get my stock, just wish it would hurry and get here so I could put it together and maybe shoot it this weekend.

I'm torn... such a great deal and I'd like a bolt gun, but this is such a heavy barreled gun it seems mostly useful for benchrest type shooting... hmm.

ETA: I couldn't resist... just ordered one.

is there any real difference in the accuracy of the 20 inch compared to the 24 inch? My longest shot would be 300 yards...
At 300 yards, a 20" will be just as good as a 24". Get one quick...

Well got my stock today and out her together love the way she feel's now need to get a scope on it I've got a tasco 3.5 x 10 x 40 that I will put on it untill i can get some better glass.

Kenny.

I received mine. The fluting on the barrel is purely cosmetic, pretty worthless if you ask me(just my opinion). The rings that are sent with weigh a ton and are too high for this gun.
The full length bedded stock has an aluminum bedding block from the back of the action all the way to the fore end. Its not like the pillar bedded stock where theres just two small pieces of aluminum in it. The end is much more stiff(I have a pillar bedded stock on a rem 700 tactical).

The gun feels real good, the trigger is good, and the rail is real nice.

JFettig, is the full-length bedding much better than the pillar bedding? I'm not sure what to get...

Just ordered mine. They are out of the 24" and the stocks. But total price for the 20" barrelled action was 472 shipped. I'll wait on the stock but I just couldn't pass up this deal. This was my first time ordering from them so I called on the phone. Super nice and easy. If you want one you better call soon, they said supply is very low.

Yes, the full length bedding block will make a much more rigid and more accurate rifle, the fore end also has aluminum in it where it doesn't in the pillar bedded stock. Its a bit heavier though.

I got one of the 20" BA's for $399 and put it in the $99 Hogue. The stock is pretty flexy but works well enough to shoot consistent 3/4MOA to 100 with handloads. I have a Manners T4A on order that should be here in 8-10 weeks. With all the CDNN BA's going on, Mr Manners is doing a run. So if you want a top end stock, you could give him a call and not have the typical wait time for a Manners.

Hello-

I received the email announcing the sale and couldn't call fast enough the next morning. Now waiting for my Nikon Tactical scope to arrive! Best $500 I have spent in a while.

BTW I have an extra $100 Hogue stock I ordered by accident...yours for $120 shipped which is what I paid. I have a post under the accesories classifieds or PM/email for details.

Does anyone know if it is possible to adapt a stock for a Winchester model 70 short action to work with the FN PBR XP, while keeping the detachable magazine? What would need to be done?

I'm thinking that this stock might be nice, if it could be adapted without too much trouble.
