I have a chance to get some powder, but need some input before I make the decision. I am reloading for a 9mm XD9 and use 115gr to 147gr jacketed and plated bullets. The powders are: Titewad (not Titegroup), Longshot, PB, and AA#5. Any of these worth getting?

Not a lot of good choices there!
Just off the top of my head with out looking up data for each one tonight?
BTW: You can do that yourself you know??

AA #5 is too fast for 147.

TiteWad is hard to find data for, and too fast for 147 grain.

Longshot is too slow for 115 bullets.

PB would work, but again, hard to find a lot of data for anymore.

I have spent a couple of hours trying to find data on these powders with very little luck.

While not ideal for the heavy stuff the AA5 is slower than the w231/hp38 I use for 147gr and 150gr. I'm sure my loads would be less snappy on the recoil (the 150s really aren't bad at all, it is a rather light recoiling load overall though and probably wouldn't cycle some guns) than with a good slower powder but I have not had any bad signs show up. Keep in mind I do use lighter loads for both not full power stuff and I'm using coated lead (bayou bullets) not FMJ or plated and I'm still somewhat new to reloading so take what I say with a big grain of salt. YMMV

Poor choices for that spread of bullets.
If I had to choose one of those it would have to be Longshot.
It's no good for 115gr bullets and with 124gr I had to load max load to get accuracy and clean burning, but it did seem to be pretty accurate for me with 5.5-5.6gr with 124gr Xtreem plated bullets at an OAL of 1.135".
That's only .1gr under max load so you better have an accurate powder measure.
I checked every load on my digital scale while loading these in my LNL-AP. With the heavier bullets you intend to load it should work better at lower than max loadings than I was using for the 124 gr.

Poor choices indeed.

I load 9mm 115gr plated with AA#5 and I like it a lot. I use 6.0-6.1gr at an OAL of 1.145 with X-treme plated bullets in an XDs, G19 w/Lone Wolf barrel, XD-9 and XD-9c? The Lee Reloading Manual has a lot of plated bullet data and Western Powders website has it for all of their powders including AA #5.

You could also PM Gamestalker, he loads a lot of 9mm with Longshot Im pretty sure. He's a pretty helpful fellow. Why are you stuck with just those selections? I thought AA#5 was right in the 9mms wheelhouse...guess not.

As others have mentioned, picking a *single* powder for 9mmx19 for 115 to 147g projectiles is very challenging.

AA#5 would be my choice for 115 and 124g projectiles of the choices you mentioned.

I already have Bullseye, 700X and Blue Dot. Just had a chance to get the ones I mentioned. Might go with the Longshot and AA#5

I used PB for 45 acp because it was all I can find. Yes, had to develop load. But now looking back I can say it was cleanest burning powder. Was very nice perceived recoil. If I had chance to buy a jug at a good price I would. It measures nice too.

AA #5 listing from Western Powder data sheet is a follows; 147 gr. Rain (P) TRN. 4.8-5.1 gr. @ 855-967 fps with pressures up to 34,884 psi COAL 1.160"
