My normal carry gun is a Kahr P9. It’s a subcompact 7+1 polymer framed auto. I’ve had the gun for 17+ years and have a good bit invested in the ‘system’ in terms of spare mags, parts, holsters, etc. I even have a spare gun I picked up just in case I break the original. I have small hands and the Kahr just feels really good and I shoot it well. It’s also very easy to conceal.
I went to a gun show today and made the mistake of picking up a Sig P365xl. My heart skipped a beat. It feels like it was molded just for my hand, and it holds 12 rounds as opposed to the seven in my Kahr. My lizard brain was screaming at me to buy it. $549 plus 6% tax. So figure by the time I get spare mags, new holsters and shoot enough carry ammo to trust it I’m looking a cool Grand to switch platforms.
I left it there. I figure after almost two decades I should probably just dance with the gal I brought. I’m not at all convinced that an extra five rounds is worth spending that kind of cash given the likelihood that I will ever need even one round for real.
But the lizard brain still wants one...
