Christmas haul

'90s? Whoa, junior, I got mine in the '60s, I must be getting old...

No more working Christmas days for me, it's great to be retired! I got the wife a bunch of clothes and kitchen stuff, I got an electric shaver and this Tisas (which I got for myself but it's really from the wife and probably cost only a little more than the electric shaver which is pretty badazz).

Nice endura. I've had and lost a couple delica's and need to replace it, again. Right now I'm looking for my Endura that I know is around here somewhere 😆

I finally got exactly what I asked for!

Nothing! Because sometimes enough, is too much!

Thankfully I did not get any lighted screwdrivers, ties, Poo-pourri, toy tool boxes, or Shirts of Excessive Size! (I’m 5’11”, nothing on me is XL. Um, don’t tell my girlfriend that please…)

I did not get gift cards to restaurants that I can not eat at, certificates to store I won’t shop at, and body care products I will never use. (No. I don’t like the smell of lavender, and having no triclosan does nothing for my phobias…)

I stuffed myself, put together basket ball hoops, ate prime rib, burned paper, devoured pies, made Hot Toddies, picked at Chex mix, and had a nerf gun war while eating nachos.

All six of the kids were happy! (Even Ollie!)

Life Is Good!

The Best Christmas ever!

And with prices dropping, I’ll actually get to buy some components this year!
So maybe I’ll have a Handloader’s Christmas in July!😃

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday, like me, and pray you all have a Happy New Year as well!

Much love,
Dh
I wish I could convince people not to buy me stuff. It gets harder and harder with each passing year to muster the phony excitement to recieve a Chinese made 12 in 1 hatchet tool, or the like. I am an electrician and I use Klein tools and Dewalt (would be milwaukee but my employer has too much Dewalt so it only made sense), I sometimes carry a $500 pocket knife and am kind of a quality snob on certain things. I finally had to be honest with my wife after an unfortunate 150pc tool set (tiny dwarf hammer incl. that was like $12 on Amazon. Maker unknown. I had to tell her "babe, let me buy my tools" and I had to tell.my sister "let me decorate my house". Because if you don't display or use what you get, it hurts feelings. My wife and kids and family are gift enough. I have always, always told them they can never go wrong with ammo. That never sticks. Oh well, I love em all.

My Christmas has yet to come because my family are all still gathering up from all over the continental US of A due to job requirements, etc.

When they decide to show; I’ll update.

I’ve got round two of gifts this weekend. My Bro and wife and two nieces. I’m still receiving, but as the Good Book says, “it is more blessed to give than receive”. I made some “boutique” ammo for my bro. 50 new Hornady brass and 150 gr BT interlocks for a 308(with xx.xx gr of N140). They shoot a 3 shot group 1/2 moa or better out of his Ruger American Predator.

Well, the peace and quiet this morning to appreciate my coffee at my own pace is a gift beyond measure.

This came in not long ago, and I'm still enjoying it.

May have to ask me again on Sunday, as there's a gun show in Fort Worth this Saturday. Ought to be an interesting mix of people either flush or busted.
Gave one to my brother along with bullwinkle horn (and dog tag). Moose Must Die! in Cyrillic is on the side of this flat horn. Wasn't Xmas gifts though. Just gifts sent to him this month.

I got my rabbit ears. I’ve had my share of rear bags and this one is clearly the best I’ve had. Question- it came with no instructions or care guide. Do I have it deployed backwards, and do I treat the leather with anything?

He’s happy ☺️

My kids were spoiled, but my wife and I decided to hold off on getting each other anything more than stocking stuffers. We just moved into our new house that was built for us, and still have to sell our old house, so once that house sells, which should give us a pretty good profit, we will spoil ourselves in the name of Christmas. A nice shop for me, and a pool for the Mrs.

That's my Mother-in-Law with tools. Always buying me gimmick tools that I never find a use for. It's the thought that counts I guess.

This was my Christmas gift to myself. Along with a 1K rd case of 124gr 9mm. The steel spinner target threads into a tree or post and says it's rated for 9mm-.45 but at 3/8" steel I imagine it can take occasional .223/.556 but I probably won't test it. The steel spinner looked pretty cool and for $19.99 I would have bought 3 or 4 of them but there was only one. I have a pretty good collection of steel targets and I need to work more on building a backstop and constructing a longer wider lane for shooting, 7-25-75-100 yard shooting lanes is my goal.

Little story, I saw a used Smith model 60 at my LGS. I looked at it and he gave me an incredible price but I had bids on 3 guns on gunbroker at the time so I told him that and that 2 of them ended that night and I needed to wait and see what or if I was buying any of them. If not I would be back the next day anyways to pick up another gun I had coming in. I went home and told my wife about it and she told me that I should have bought it. The next day I went to the LGS to do the FFL paperwork on the gun that came in and I was going to buy the model 60 bc I lost the bidding on 2 of the guns. He said it had been sold. I was kicking myself in the foot and told my wife that some $%@&<÷>#^ had bought it. She said I told you that you should have bought it yesterday. Christmas Eve I opened that gun up. She went there when they opened that next morning and totally surprised me. I apologized for calling her a %@$//@<<÷. Lol

That's a keeper man, good for you. My wife did something similar the year before last with a Remington 870. My wife thinks I'm hard to shop for but I think gun guys are the easiest to shop for, no? I mean seriously, how hard is it to buy for a gun guy?

With my wife, who actually is hard to shop for, I got her a nice illuminated makeup mirror and in years past whatever latest and greatest phone, Coach bag, Chanel bag, etc...... with me it's like just read the cal engraving on the side of any gun and begin your quest 😆

Not sure if you use Ballistol products but Ballistol is an excellent leather preservative/conditioner as well as being a pretty good eco friendly skin safe CLP for guns. I've been using it for years, it pretty good. I use it on my boots and work gloves and I get some more life out of em.....

Same here, I have lost count of the Stella McCartney, Chanel, etc. I even picked up a Gucci bag in Copenhagen once as a surprise while I was there without her. She drove to the range a couple days before Christmas and bought me a year’s membership.
