Here, use these,

This is THE ammunition for those that have a cartridge conversion on their 36 caliber percussion revolvers in 38 special chambered firearms. Loaded using smokeless powder. The 38 caliber hollow base bullet will bump up to take the rifling in the barrels .375" groove. For use in our Kirst Cartridge Konverters and R&D Cartridge Conversions and of course these also work out of any 38 special or 357 magnum revolver. 650 fps.

Yea, pretty weak but for all of those 51 conversions you have to shoot hollow based bullets so they expand into the rifling.

Take my money, Cimarron ! I'd love to see a pocket colt open top conversion. Still puzzled on how it stays loaded with an open gate. I've got the R&M open top in 38 special...what a tack driver. I don't handload 380 but I'll start if they make this little gem. Never messed with conversion cylinders in my 36''s for the reasons mentioned earlier... I do have two howell cylinders for my Remington New Model and revolving carbine in 45 colt...those are a hoot and pretty accurate as well.

I'd venture to guess, being a 5 shot, that the opening through the recoil shield doesn't align when the bolt is in the stop.

I think I get what you're saying. If the cylinder rotates clockwise in colt fashion, there'd never be a live round rotating past the gate..only spent shells? Kind of ingenious so long as you don't skip a chamber while shooting for whatever reason.

Probably like my .32 H&R Model 04 revolver. When the cylinder is in lockup the chambers are halfway in the loading ramp looking like two opposite half moons. )( If they come out I would probably look at one to buy although I wish there was more .380 lead ammo available.

I already cast lee's 105gn swc for 38 special..thinking this would be perfect for 380 in this revolver...tad heavy but easy to adjust for.

Yes, but you wouldn't want to carry it with the cylinder locked up and a live round in the chamber under the hammer. You'd have to keep that chamber empty. That effectively makes the gun a 4-shot.

Here is an original on GB:

No bids as of this posting!

Now THAT'S neat!

I see the the originals didn't have a great or ejector rod either. Therfore, this .380 version gets my blessing. I'll be buying one. I appreciate the authenticity. Very cool!

What caliber were the original Colt 1862 conversions? That auction claims .38 Long Colt. Is that right?

I hope it'll be around those prices, but considering that the Cimmaron Uberti 1849 pocket revolver percussion verion is $310, I would think the conversion would be upwards of $450-500, maybe even more. Probably worth it though.

I still like the 49 Pocket with its conversion cylinder. A lot less paperwork. I just want Uberti to offer longer barrels on the 49 Pocket revolver.

I have a '48 with a fairly rare 6 shot 32 &W conversion cylinder. I would still like to get one of the .380 guns, I just hope they make enough of them. If not, one would have to wait another tear for them to make another batch of them.

The Kirst conversion for the .32S&W is nice but the bore is too big for the cartridge. The new .380 should be a good shooter with proper bore dimensions.

What's the big deal about a 4473?
