It's February 2011... I've been waiting for this time to come, itching to expose my beloved 1911 to the world. John Browning must be so proud of what his creation has become now - in its entire existence it has become the pistol most worthy of praise.

As a tribute to this American classic, lets post and boast all of our classic babies here!

here's my classic baby:
shes a 1911A1. Colt NM bbl w/ an 11-degree cut crown, Wilson's bushing, front and back strap checkering, chromed hammer, aluminum trigger, classic look front serrations, dovetailed front sight, rear notch cut to 2.2mm wide x 1.8mm deep, series 70 safety, and the most subtle extended magwell I could find.

I kept the tang grip safety for the classic look, and because the scar on my thumb web never fails to make me smile like a giddy schoolboy.

Im planning to replace her trigger with one of those pretty two-hole kimbers when i find one. sorry for the heavy oil coat, i'm in the tropics.

2 of my 3

actuallly the 3rd is closest to the original 1911, but I don't have a picture at this time.

Nice guns, you guys.

I recently got the 1911 jones again and picked up the cheapest one I have ever heard of these days.

Used Rock Island for 325. Definitely needs some work though. I haven't worked on a 1911 in years but its all coming back.

Earl, that pistol of yours is made here in the Philippines is that right?

In english, it's filipino. here, its pilipino. Philipino is kinda cute, but Philipeener would be the best i guess! heha

The first one is a 1924 custom by the late Austin Behlert, then a 1967 Colt LWCommander in a 38 Super, then a Series by Ted Yost, last but not least a Colt Delta Elite by Chuck Warner. IMG_2596.gif IMG_2454.gif IMG_1934.jpg IMG_1965.gif
