Most rifles have zero recoil when shooting at game.
338win. That’s a shoulder breaker
This one in .44 mag, "Ole Thumper". Belongs to my MBH, (much better half).
Have a blessed day,
Leon

With the 9.3 it doesn't take many rounds to heat up a barrel. Do you recall what that Mannlicher weighed? It's not so bad. I will say though, that after four, three shot groups, them groups would start opening up when I had mine. The groups got bigger, maybe the barrel was getting too hot.
What about a Sporterized 03A3? Dad gave it to me in pieces and I finished it out into a fantastic hunting rifle
That is the very essence of classic field gun. It is just begging to be blooded.I just got it so haven't hunted with it yet.
1903 Mannlicher-Schoenauer in 6.5x54, serial number 11xxx:

My Dad's ole Savage 99 from the early 60s. It's beat up, scratched, dinged and it's taken more deer then I can count. It's mine now and I still take it into the field.

Very nice. What caliber?
About 50 years old, Remington 788 in 308 Win. Just installed a 2.5-8 Leupold in Detachment Warn rings. Need to find a Rear sight on online. View attachment 1030091
Thank you and I own no safe queens. Life's to short for that. Besides they collect memories and experiences along with some responsibly sourced protein. LolThat is cool. She ain't no safe-queen. Very interesting choice of caliber. Looks like some tender vittles. I'll take a doe over a buck anytime. Well...when it's legal, which is very seldom around here. (Washington State)
40-70 shoots a bit flatter but not any lighter to carry. Had some custom brass made for the Sharps Straight. That is cool. She ain't no safe-queen. Very interesting choice of caliber. Awesome levergun. The stories they'd tell if they could talk.My Dad's ole Savage 99 from the early 60s. It's beat up, scratched, dinged and it's taken more deer then I can count. It's mine now and I still take it into the field.

Isn't that the truth. While on stands it is super. Slip hunting heavy cover not so much. I love shooting this caliber. Wish I had bluff shoots in Ohio.I bet it pops off pretty good, fun cartridge/caliber to play with no doubt. Yes the smaller the bore the more weight the barrel has, but I'm sure the pleasure of just having it and hunting with it "outweighs" the weight. I have a 10.8 pound rifle I hunt with sometimes, it's doable. I realize some of them Sharps weigh even more than that.
