The official gun control debate has started here in our shooting-friendly state, and things are looking a bit ugly. The state legislature is currently under strong Democratic control, along with the governorship. If we don't stay on top of this issue, many of our rights may not be honored in the very near future!

I'd encourage each and every one of you to write, call, and e-mail all of your state reps. Our rights are being threatened, and the biggest fight is coming from within our own state, where the anti-gun people might have the votes to push these ridiculous laws through the system.

The time to fight is now... we still have time, but must act. The wheels are in motion already:

Let law makers know that you:

1) Don't support bans on certain types of guns
2) Don't support magazine bans
3) Don't support other legal measures that won't truly stop criminals from committing violent acts

(ATTENTION MODERATORS: I hope this is okay as a General Subject posting. I posted it here in hopes that more gun owners in my state will notice it, since the Activism section isn't as regularly viewed)

Well, either everyone is busy writing their reps, or I'm the only Coloradan left around here. I'll hope the former is the case :)

you are most definitely not the only Coloradan here. I heard the news about the failed bill to allow concealed carry on the way to work this morning. I, however, had not heard of the bills being considered for the AWB, mag ban, or universal background checks. Me and my wife as well as much of our family here in Colorado will probably get harrassment charges for the amount of correspondence our reps will be recieving in the next few days. Thanks for giving us the heads up.

actual bills to restrict guns have not been submitted yet. They are absolutely in development but until submitted we cannot see them.
keep an eye on this site to see what has been submitted and where they stand.

If you want to see the kind of folks were up against, sort on bills sponsored (prime or sponsor) by FIELDS. She is one I know is working on it (said again in the OP link). She obviously cares strongly about children and education based on her proposals. Thats exactly the person we want crafting our firearm laws.
