I would also guess they're Series 80 because as you say sellers usually indicate if the gun is a Series 70 or not.

80 series.

A local LGS had a high polished Colt 1911 it was a series 80. He wanted $1000 for it.

Also the spec says Firing Pin Safety.

Yeah, it's kind of hilarious though, some of their 1911s will say firing pin grip safety and ambidextrous, while others (the colt custom cqc) wont have anything listed. While the m45a1 marine battle pistol says grip safety, and ambidextrous thumb safety.

Ill just have to email to make sure before ordering I guess.

I really don't think the S80 is a big deal. A Swartz it isn't.

All the high polish guns I've seen are S80.

I have both S80 and S70 Colts.... and have no issue with the S80 at all. In fact, for a carry gun, I would prefer the S80.

You can tune the trigger very nicely on either one (and I have).

Probably 15-20 years ago I had 2 1911 Colts described by Colt as "Ultrabright Stainless" . One 45 and one .38 SUPER. Pretty guns, but impossible to avoid fine, sub hairline scratches. I don't treat my firearms carelessly and I sold them because of it. Had I of Renaissance wax I might still have them.
