Here's a couple. DW Razorback and Colt Delta Elite.....

I'm in. I have an all-steel government size S&W 1911PD. As far as I know it was never a cataloged model, so I am currently waiting for a letter of authenticity from S&W -- hopefully they can give me some background info on the pistol. It has a polished black slide with no front serrations. I've added Novak night sights (installed by Novak) and a set of Ahrends ebony grip panels.

Hope i"m in with the six I've got...

-Mil-Spec Springer that been modded out
-Springer HI-Cap
-Springer Champ with a few extras
-Firestar (don't laugh it's one of my most accurate 1911's)
-Charles Daly 3.5" (again don't laugh, for $330 it's my best deal ever.)
-Colt/Federal Ord. mutt

All dead reliable and great shooters.

Here I am trying to decide which to buy for my FIRST, and the Rangegod and Greenfurniture post their stuff, and the ol' boys just shrivel up and pack it in !!!!! Thanks for the incentive pics !

I just picked up an SA MilSpec last week and sent it right off to the SA Custom Shop to have them change out the standard rounded mainspring housing for a flat one. I could have done the switch or had a local smith do it, but since it was brand new I figured I'd go to the source. Now I'm waiting to get it back so I can go and shoot that rascal. I got an excellent deal on it too. The gun shop had two MilSpecs, both new, but one had to be sold as "used". It seems some guy bought it and was going to build it up, changed his mind and traded it back in. It was new in the box and unfired, so I jumped on it. It was ninety bucks less than the "new" one.
I got back into shooting just this last six months or so. I hadn't done any shooting since I left the service some thirty six years ago. I'm making up for lost time though and having a good time doing it. I think I've got the fever. So far I've got a Glock 19, a Ruger 4" GP100, my MilSpec and we bought my wife a S&W 60 for a bedside gun. I have a Mossberg 18" 500A and I'm probably looking at an SA M1A next. I think it's a pretty good selection so far.
Question; Is it sane to want another 1911 already?

Saving Towards

My first one not easy since I am a retired, disabled vet, college student but it will be mine! I go to the gun shops in the area and try not to get drool on the nice toys. Don't mind Xavier Breath :neener: he is just trying to corner the market. Just read his blog http://xavierthoughts.blogspot.com/

I want in....

But have yet to get a 1911A1 may trade a few things I own for a low entry price.
Love the gun hate polymer frames the only other Semi's I own are BHP copies or Clones.

I used to have a Springfield micro and a GI parts gun, but sold them and was 1911-less for quite a while.

Finally got another (a Springfield GI) in January.

Don't bash the imports. Have a Taurus PT1911. Works flawlessly and has groups comparable to the $1k and up guns.
:neener:

I'm in. I just recently swapped my old colt :banghead: for a pieced together win 97 :banghead: . Proved that even I can commit random acts of stupidity. But, I've still got my Taurus PT1911, and Springer Mil-Spec. Love 'em.

BTW, Green Furniture I still don't get your hatred of the Taurus. I've got 2243 rds through mine, with only one failure. That was when the hammer lock jammed up. Happened at 1847 rds, after shooting some retardedly hot Cor-Bon stuff without changing the spring. Gunsmith said that the lock was a poor design, but would not likely have failed without the added pressure of the Cor-Bon. Anyhow, one wilson hammer and about 400 rounds later, it's back to its usual flawless self. I wouldn't hesitate to buy or recommend them, caveat the hammer. I can't say the same for Colt or kimber, though...

Count me in. I have a Springfield TRP, a Nighthawk Tactical BAPD SOT #10 of 15 and an Ed Brown Executive Carry. I intend to get more whenever possible.

I'm in, have a Kimber Pro Carry II and Taurus PT1911.

The Pro Carry now has a set of Pachmayr American Legends grips. Used the Signal Corp grips on the Taurus.

Me likey this club!

My first carry piece was an Auto Ordinance 1911 clone that I had bought about fifteen years ago. Carried it daily in a nice shoulder rig with two mags off-side. Got rid of it about seven years ago I think. More recently bought a new Commander-size RIA .45 and am saving up (or hitting people up for a loan!) and will get a Springer Stainless Mil-Spec. I bought an XD-40 but before I even shot it, I realized that I didn't feel safe enough with it without a manual safety. Go figure.

Not sure what I'll do with the XD-40, if I'll sell it or just keep it around for S&G's. Seeing some of the collections on this site makes me drool and makes me wish for a heckuva lot more money!

First gun I'm gonna get when I turn 21 will be either a wilson, Brown, or Nighthawk 1911, as I can't wait to "join the club" and own one of these beautiful works of art.

I've carried M1911s all my life, in service and out.

I currently have three -- an M1927 Argentine, a "kit built" Fed Ord, and a Kimber Classic. The first two are presently wearing .22 conversion kits, a Colt Service Ace kit and a Ciener kit, repectively.
