Turkish M1911A1's for the Civilian Marksmanship Program

I dont know about these CMP versions, but my "Army" model, as well as my "Tank Commander" are both marked on the underside of the dust cover. The "Service" model I have is marked on the side of the frame.

Tonight, I'll take a photo of this exact spot on my Tisas 1911A1 "US Army." There's no "Turkey" or "Turkiye" stamped anywhere on my pistol. Doesn't even say "Made in ..." anywhere.

SMS Was importing TISAS from Türkiye, so they needed import markings. Now that there's a TISAS USA in Tennessee, if they are in compliance with the assembly regs, then, they don't need import markings.
Maybe.
Perhaps.

*For those curious, if your keyboard has a numberpad, holding the ALT key and typing 129 gives you ü, the lowercase "u" with the umlaut ("Oom lout") diacritical mark. On many mobile devices, if you just hold the "u" key down, it will offer up the various forms with accents, circumflex, and the like.

I dont know if thats a good thing or a bad thing. My experience with guns made in other countries that were always decent when made there and then imported, more often than not, went to various levels of crap once they started making them here. Glock has been the only outlier there for me.

Hopefully, since they're here now, they get the extractors sorted anyway. :)

OK I was wrong. Wednesday I had the pistol outdoors in the sunlight, and the same stampings that were posted here are visible on my Tisas 1911A1 as plain as day. I must be as blind as a bat and shouldn't be shooting pistols. 😞

LOL. Dont be so hard on yourself. Just use whats left of your eyesight to focus on those little sights. :)
