Saw one of these at the gun store for about $400. Neat little piece.

It was in excellent shape externally, especially considering what I understand to be the gun's age. Cylinder is quite tight, with just a hair or two of side-to-side play. Pretty nice trigger. Hammer makes that cool, stair-stepped sequence of clicks when you cock it. ;)

The fixed notch sight seemed a little primitive, but it'd be a plinker anyway, not a varminter.

These pieces date from the 1960s, right?

And what are your thoughts in general about the Frontier Scouts?

Much appreciated.

Mine is a dandy little gun. It has an alloy frame and points very naturally. The Blue Book would be a good source of info although their pricing seem to be much lower when compared to auctions and Gunsamerica prices. Also had one that was all metal and 22 mag. Hefty bugger it was.

My Dad bought his new back in the 60's. The Buntline model with a 9+ inch barrel and in .22 WMR. It's a great little gun and not nearly as muzzle heavy as you would expect. Great feel in the hand. I've got it now.

I had 2 of them and kept one.
Got the .22 mag cylinder for it.
Great fun to shoot and accurate too.
They go up in value if they are in good shape.
Saw one for sale on the Colt Forum.

Colt Scout pistol

That is a neat little pistol and you do not need target sights to shoot accurately as I shot rabbits for supper with one way back then. Mine had a imitation Stag grip on it and I practiced fast draw with it pretending to be the lone ranger. Years later I was given the grip company.

All you have to do is have fun with it and with strong concentration you can shoot accurately.
