Not from just those photos I can't.

I can tell you that they look like they may be commemorative models with the fancy plating. They usually tend to go for less than a non-commemorative model because they are not as desirable. Sometimes you can pick up a real bargain with a commemorative model.

Then again, they may have been refinished that way.

No way to tell from those photos.

I’ll try to go back to the shop this evening and take more photos

You can google "cased colt commemorative saa .45 lc", select the "Images" link and look for the ones that look like the ones in your photos or check the boxes when you go back to the store and write down which commemoratives they are and search google by their names. You will get hits of current auctions and sales but pay the most attention to past auctions and sales and the "price realized" as that tells what someone REALLY paid for it. You can also go to GunBroker and click "Advanced Search" then "Completed Auctions" and search for each by name. Note there will be lots of items that did not sell because folks priced their stuff way above what it was worth. Look at the sold auctions to see what someone actually paid for it! Good Luck,
EK

The one on the left is a Colonel Sam Colt Sesquicentennial Commemorative 1 of 5000. I haven't identified the one on the right. The gun shop probably knows what they have and are priced for as much as they can get. If you want a gun to shoot keep looking. Shoot these just once or even just turn the cylinder and the value will plummet.

In the second picture (the one with the blued cylinder) the inset medallion looks like it's inside the black outline of a state.

Could be a U.S. State commerative?

Can't figure out which state, pre-statehood territory maybe?

thanks! looks like you are right. It’s thr Colonial Colt 1 of 500. And priced is exactly how much it would be at auction ..$1500

Question. If it a Colt Commemorative, it not worth as much as a non… why not wear it and shoot the snot out of it? It’s a handsome gun

You could but it will lose value.

from what I read… It’s never going to be worth as much as a untouched Colt of the same era, so why not get it out it’s case and have fun with it. You guys know what I’m saying?

A Montana commemorative sold at an RIA auction for $1,840. That was a higher-numbered one with the Pearlite grips, though.

This gun shop seems to know what it's doing, price wise.

Personally I would rather have a run-of-the-mill 2nd Generation, in equivalent condition, than a commemorative.

I’m going to wear and shoot them! Just want a true Colt for Cheap! and if people don’t like the commemorative guns, more power to me.

so, why people don’t like 3rd gen Colts?

Assuming both are in good condition, if I were going to buy one of them I would go for the cheaper of the two and ask if they will take $1150. You are paying cash so they would not be forking a percentage to the CC company. (Nobody here still using CC to buy guns, right.)

EDIT: Start offering $1100 and you may get to $1150.

both looked unfired. On consignment at a local gun store and always pay cash

You might check prices on auction sites. That might be a good deal. I just looked local and unless they have come down in the last year.
From "northwest firearms " none were $1200
