they are both showy guns! one is just more showyBut the other one is half blue half nickel.
What do you guys think about Colt Quality in the 70’s. I recond these were make in the 70’s
Small details make a huge difference in price. I really need to get in the mind of a collector with deep pockets who is willing to pay $50,000 for a 1st year SAA. These people interest me.Regarding the video about the $50,000 Colt by Jim Supica (one of the authors of The Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson) this is what he is referring to when he mentions the pinched frame rear sight. Only the very first Single Action Army revolvers had a rear sight like this.

This is more typical of a 1st Gen rear sight, this happens to be on a Bisley Model that shipped in 1907.

This is what a 2nd Gen rear sight looks like from the top.

On the left in this photo is what the 2nd Gen rear sight looks like from the rear. The Uberti Cattleman on the right has a sight similar to what was on 1st Gen Colts. I find the nice square groove of the 2nd Gen rear sight much easier to use than the tiny V of a 1st Gen rear sight.

they had Luger’s in the case, mix or old and new. and lots of 1900-something ColtsHonestly I'd rather have the Stoeger Luger than either one of those.
I gotta get a Colt and shoot the turd out of it. If commemoration is my cheapest route! SOLDIf you can get a deal on them I would buy them and shoot them! I bought a new old stock colt signature series that never been fired, I shoot it often, I devalued it but oh well I'm having fun!
Can't be a cowboy without getting on a horse and riding for 16 hours a day chasing broken fences, lost cows, eating lots of dust, getting wet from rain, having a horse throw you, getting stomped, bit and kicked by a surley hayburner. All for minimum wages. Sound like fun?I gotta get a Colt and shoot the turd out of it. If commemoration is my cheapest route! SOLD
can’t be a cowboy without having experience a real Colt
Something to say about a flashy Colt Custom shop gun from the 60’s! Everything about that says “ME” and again, they will never be produced by hand like that again. My Uber diving money is really been better than expected. I might get both if they are still there. I have the money for 1 of them, and can get a second a few weeks after. And if serious Colt collectors like to pass on flashy Colts, maybe I can get a deal… who knows.
Now You Talking!!!If you buy both you can always switch out the gold parts to the other gun. Then you would have one normal gun and one barbeque or pimp gun (add some pearl grips).
Same here, but good luck finding one for $1200. OP wants a shooter and IMO the $1200 one could theoretically be a bargain for that purpose. I would avoid the silver cylinder one on general principle as I think they’re hideous.A Montana commemorative sold at an RIA auction for $1,840. That was a higher-numbered one with the Pearlite grips, though.
This gun shop seems to know what it's doing, price wise.
Personally I would rather have a run-of-the-mill 2nd Generation, in equivalent condition, than a commemorative.
Because people are ignorant. Very early and late/recent third gens are objectively among the best SAA revolvers they’ve ever made. Particularly as shooters. They had some QC problems during the middle third gen years so you should check them out thoroughly as you should with any potential purchase.so, why people don’t like 3rd gen Colts?
I’m going to try for both! lolSame here, but good luck finding one for $1200. OP wants a shooter and IMO the $1200 one could theoretically be a bargain for that purpose. I would avoid the silver cylinder one on general principle as I think they’re hideous.
