Really only compact 9's i shot are kahr cw and glock26 so not enough experience to have one yet

Kahr CW9 and G26 are both sub-compacts. Compacts are next size up ala CZ PCR & G19.

I really like my Taurus PT-111Mil-Pro.

First time I shot it, I wasn't a huge fan, but I keep getting better, and it keeps putting lead downrange.

I bought a Sig P229 CPO, thinking it might eventually replace my PT-111 (even though not as small) or my PT--92. But, while I keep having issues with my Sig, both Tauri keep running without hiccups.

Glock 19 or Sig 229 for me. Both can be trusted with your life.

S&W M&P 9c. Two mags, 12 rounds each, three backstraps. About $425. AND...the one's around here have no interal locks although at first glance it may look that way. They just plug up the keyhole with a metal pin.

Have shot Kahr P9, Kel-tec PF9, & Taurus PT111Pro sub-compact 9mm's. All were fine pistols but I think the P9 shot best.

What is your def. of "compact". For some gun makers that is a 4 inch barrel, for others that is a 3.5.
